  1. well done must have been a very expensive last few months but a great feeling
  2. So i had my Mod 2 first attempt today and passed 1 minor. Started the day with training (test was at 2pm) and it went terrible. I was going in the wrong lanes in big round-abouts, was going to fast up to junctions (still at 30mph) so ended up leaving myself too much to do with the lifesavers before making the turn. Basically was just panicking too much in areas i didnt know. Then the radio broke while practising on a test route so the instructor had to go infront as i had no idea where i was, however this actually relaxed me as i was learning the routes without getting myself flustered or over-thinking things. Anyway, the last route we practised happened to be the one on my test, and a route i regularly go round so didnt get myself worked up with not knowing where i was. Ended up getting one minor as i said earlier and that was because a car indicated to come into the same lane as me while i was next to them and proceeded to cut me up causing me to brake. My examiner said I could of gone into the right hand lane instead (was 2 lanes, where a 3rd lane joins it from a swing but you can stay in it to go straight on). Very happy its all over and no longer have to show my L-plates. Now to decide whether to sell my r125 or keep it for a bit longer
  3. Well i passed, so no more L plates for me 1 minor, and thats cos I was cut up by a car who didnt bother checking next to them before swapping lanes, I put the breaks on and got a minor as he said I should of been more aware and gone in the lane next to me when he put his indicators on. Not complaining tho
  4. Cheers for clearing that up, maybe dsa need to make it clearer on there site lol
  5. Thats what i thought it was before, just the "You must use the same motorcycle for both modules." bit which confused me rather then, the same class of motorcycle
  6. Hi, had a quick check and couldn't find an answer for my question so, I did my Mod 1 last week on the trainings school ybr 125, I told them i wanted to do the Mod 1 on their ybr and the Mod 2 on my r125 which they said was no problem, I have my Mod 2 on Wednesday so went on the DSA website just having a read through to make sure I have everything i need and revising the questions they ask where it says you have to use the same bike for both modules: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/PracticalTest/DG_178328 Can anyone clarify which is correct (I'm guessing DSA), as training school say one thing, DSA say another. Cheers,
  7. When i was looking at jackets, i tried a size 44 RST razor which fitted me well, however when i tried a lewis jacket on, i was a size 40. :S
  8. Went there on a school trip about 6 years ago, would love to go back on the bike.
  9. I brought SWIFT SUPERBIKE BOOTS(SWSUPERBIKE) from J&S for £55 in their sale, usually there £69.99. Abit over your budget but if you can get them in their sale, there nice and comfy, waterproof and look great imo
  10. So im looking at getting a leather jacket for the summer but have a problem, everyone ive tried on, dont fit properly. Measured myself up and im: 36inch chest, top of the shoulder down to top of where my thumb is 26inch. When looking at the size charts for leather jackets (and adding couple inches on chest) id want a small at 38inches, but the arm length is only 24 inches, making it too small on the arms, each size up (m,l,xl) etc increase in chest by 2 inches, and half inch for arm length. so to get a 26inch arm length, i would need an xxl, which is obviously huge on my chest/shoulders. Does anyone know of any places/shops that sell to my sort of measurements or have a similar problem to what i have, and found a solution? xD I could go custom made, but guessing it would be very expensive
  11. I brought a textile jacket from the australian bike gear. Cost 50 quid, been through a low speed crash and didnt do any damage to it or me , however it isnt waterproof, so get what you pay for in the end. Had no problems though.
  12. Did they ever show stoners crash in the end? watched it on bbc3 and at the time they just showed the bike on the floor but didnt see any replays
  13. I did my CBT in September 2008. Booked in to do it on a 125, got there, sat on a bike, and just couldnt get going. Wouldnt let the clutch out enough, then panic and let it out too much and stall it. After a few goes, I was suggested to go on a moped instead. So did my CBT on it, got a certificate saying i did it on a moped as opposed to a geared bike. At the end of the day they let me have ago on a geared bike for 10mins which i managed to get going but found changing gears difficult and they suggested taking futher lessons there. I decided to just "teach" myself. If you can find a quiet, large area you can easily do it yourself just going up and down getting used to changing gears. I dont know how much a school would charge for extra lessons, but if you have a 125 available, it might be worth giving it ago yourself first and if you then have trouble, go for extra lessons.
  14. Why did it cost 100+ to retake ur mod 1 and 200+ for mod 2? In plymouth i was quoted 15 quid for mod 1 and 75 quid mod 2 based on if I use my own bike and didnt have any lessons. Surely renting a bike for the couple hours to retake them doesnt cost 100+ each for mod 1 and mod 2? Unless your doing futher training on them?
