Hi. New here 51 years old, and new MC rider - Angry at myself why I didn't start riding MC earlier. Hope some of you can guide me on selecting helmets. I got a cheap flip-up helmet (Shiro) that I bought in Spain. My head is size 64-65 cm.; depending on how I measure it) and the Shiro is sitting a bit to tight. Now... I like the idea of being able to flip-up the front of the helmet - I know that the cost is on security, but... I feel to claustrophobic with a fully integral helmet. Being in the top end of head size, I can rule out most helmets. I am now looking at either Shoei Neotech 2 XXL or Nolan N100.5 XXL (or XXXL) I have been trying to figure out the safety ratings for helmet. ECE, DOT, Sharp, SNELL... and I am really do not know what to think of these. How would you guys think of the safety on these two helmets - is one more secure than the other? Should I go for something else? Regards, Lars.
