  1. As with the first poster I too am looking for a comms system. I’m quiet interested in the ‘Cardo freecom 4 plus’ and the ‘Sena linkin ride pal 3’. the Cardo I know is all voice command if you want, which I do and I believe it has a good range. The Sena on the other hand I’m not sure whether that is voice command if required or not, as there seems to be conflicting information on that, also I believe the range is only 400 metres, so, does anyone have either of these and if so what info could you provide regarding voice command and distance?
  2. Just received my hero blobs from the above company. very good delivery time, free non scratch key fob well impressed. thanks for the recommendation.
  3. Brilliant. that’s that sorted. ordered two. I’ll replace both and make sure they’re well secure this time. looks like a good place to shop that.
  4. Yep that’s the ones. bit flipping dear though. £15.29. I’ll see if I can get them cheaper now I know the part No.
  5. No. they’re completely different unfortunately.
  6. Anyone know where I can get hero blobs for the front foot pegs? I seem to have lost one of mine. tried eBay but that’s only coming up with the complete foot peg assembly. just realised haven’t put the bike make up. BMW F800ST.
  7. That copper took his time getting out the car.
  8. Oh thanks folks. I’m trying to forget em at my age, but as I say ‘age is just a number’ mines just a bit larger than a lot of others. The number that is.
  9. But the policy wasn’t becoming active until today 17th and I called yesterday the 16th. So there shouldn’t have had to have been a change if the policy didn’t become active till the 17th surely. You’ve been done !! Well not yet because I declined to pay the aforementioned £21.00 as I hadn’t yet bought the exhaust. I’ll probably buy it and go with a different insurer next time but ask whether there would be a loading for having an aftermarket exhaust. Bennett’s may be getting another customer next year.

  11. Hello folks. Are any of you folks insured with a company that doesn’t charge for modifications that are either, non performance enhancing, doesn’t increase the value of the bike, or is just a modification for aesthetic reasons? The reason I ask is I wanted to change my standard exhaust for a Delkevic tri 320mm stainless steel non performance enhancing exhaust. I called the insurance company (HastingsDirect ) to inform them of my intention only to be told it would cost me an extra £21.00. When I asked why? They told me that it was a modification to the original. I stated it was non performance enhancing and just being changed for aesthetic reasons. Reply again. It’s a modification. I know some will ask why I bothered informing them. Well a few people told me if they weren’t informed it could invalidate the policy. So, any companies out there that don’t charge for such modifications?
  12. Seems like there’s for and against for both helmet and bike mount. I must say I bought a mount to put the phone on the bike when using google maps and no vibration on that but I imagine if a cam was attached to the screen it may be a different matter. I’m not so sure it’s going to be worth the hassle now to be honest.
  13. I assume this is easily detached if you leave the bike in a carpark? From a lot of the replies I'm feeling more inclined to go for one that is bike attached rather than helmet attached, plus this one seems a reasonable price as opposed to some I've seen.
  14. So do you feel it’s better to have one on the bike itself rather than on the helmet?
  15. I’m thinking about getting a cam for the bike/helmet. Already have a dash cam in the car because there’s so many tossers on the road these days and wondering if anyone on here has one and if so, is it a helmet cam or a bike cam (if there’s a difference) In other words if it’s a bike cam where do you fit it and if it’s a helmet cam what do people recommend? My helmet is a flip front if that makes any difference to how and where it’s fitted.
  16. I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned the classic ‘Easy Rider’.
  17. I get absolutely Apoplectic watching the amount of ar*ehole car drivers cutting corners. I see them mainly whilst walking the dogs but it got so bad I had to buy a dash cam in case I encountered any on the road whilst driving. I don’t want to get a helmet cam and therefore I always do the same as Bender the topic starter. People are just useless, they think nobody’s going to be there when they cut the corner.
  18. No mine inadvertently got left on the bonnet of my wife’s car And got absolutely soaked. Dried them naturally but I reckon it’s left them ever so slightly Stiff hence why I’m asking what people use to supple them up again. I’ve got some Nik wax so probably give that a try. Thanks for the replies.
  19. Probably been asked before but searching there’s too much to go through so. What if anything does everyone use on their leather gloves to keep them supple?
  20. Reattached the now silver sparkle powder coated pillion grab rail to the F800st. It had suffered somewhat from having the Givi topbox bracket on top of it, flaked and grotty. Now as good as new if not better.
  21. I never got on with the pinlock on my Caberg so didn't even consider it on this one. Let’s hope the coming good weather makes fogging less of a problem for all of us soon.
  22. Wanted to update on this. As mentioned earlier in this thread I bought one of these for the Mrs and rated it highly... It worked well and is cheaper than a pinlock. I was even going to get one for my helmet next time I needed to replace my own pinlock(s). Unfortunately, the Mrs' one has just come unglued inside her visor while she was riding along. Just popped out in her face, properly scared her. I cleaned her visor with alcohol before applying it and applied it in warm temps (indoors). If anything when I put it on my major concern, was that we wouldn't be able to get it off again. I really didn't expect it to just fling off by itself. Could be a one-off but I'm quite disappointed tbh Well I’m quite surprised about that as mine is 100% solid in place and just checked after reading this. They do apparently however have a six months replacement policy if anything untoward happens. I’d say ungluing is definitely untoward. Unfortunately I can only recommend as I find and as I say mines fine. Personally I’d be contacting them and explaining what’s happened and I hope they’ll be able to help.
  23. How long does this stuff (fog tech) work for because the spectacle problem is the only problem I have now and that’s only basically at traffic lights when queuing?
  24. Oh bad idea. Online shopping is brilliant for some/most things but personality it's a big no no for helmets.
