I would like to thank everyone for all the advice you have given me on this forum, it has helped immensly. I still haven't lost the permanent grin that I think will stay for a long time
  4. Hi Guys, Took my first ever attempt at the Mod 1 test and passed today with no minors. WAHEY. Didn't know why i was stressing. got 51KPH on the swerve and 58KPH on the emergency stop. Thanks guys for all the tips and the posts on the Mod 1 review. It helped me out loads. One step closer to my big boy bike
  5. Cheers Polecat, What was the slalom n figure of eight like.I'm probably stressing over nothing.
  6. Hey Guys, I have my DAS this Saturday, test training on Sunday and MOD 1 on Monday at 8:45. I have had a look at the MOD 1 experiences but am started to get pretty nervous. Does anybody have any further tip's that could help me during the MOD 1. I am doing the test on a ER5 so I think getting up to 31MPH shouldn't be a problem. Cheers James
  7. best of luck but by the sound of it.you should be fine.
  8. I have heard the rumours about how it's easier to ride on a 500 and more stable, I think it's just reading all the reviews about the Mod 1 that made me quite nervous. I'm just waiting for a call back from the trainer then I can get the ball rolling. I've got the biking bug and want to get it sorted.
  9. it's quite shocking you had that issue, when I did my CBT i was with 2 other guys who had ridden before but i never had, the instructor told not to care about the others and just concentrate on what i was doing and getting it write. The CBT should only last 1 day with about half the day spent riding and practising off the road. It may be worth trying another riding school. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
  10. i've been riding for a few months now on a YBR 125 as often as possible, have found it easier and easier time by time and more confident than i was when i first started.
  11. Hi Everyone, I passed my Theory on the weekend (Woohoo) and am really wanting to complete my DAS and book my Module 1 so that I can get my SV650 but am nervous about it. I have spoken to a few trainers and they are saying that they can get me booked in pretty quickly for my Mod 1 but am unsure if I am pushing it or if they are doing it just to get people through. From the peeps here that have done DAS and Mod 1 am I being nervous for no reason as there seems to be alot of cones in the test centre and am a bit nervy bout jumping to the 500 (although excited in the same way) Cheers JT.
  12. sounds quite a long way away 2013?????? i had 2 swerve as some twat decided 2 pull out infront of me. s to hopefully it wnt be that bad on test day. do u reckon i ciould get both tests done before the bike show at the NEC???
  13. we shall have to see what happens.its frustrating as i want to get my tests sorted.i have been very worried about the swerve test but the are currently asking everyone what they can to possibly merge mod1 and mod2. is the swerve test as scary as everyone is making out?
  14. Hi All, I was down at my mates when his mom who is practicing for her MOD1 came back from some training, only to tell me to hold fire as the trainers have mentioned that the DSA are scrapping the MOD1 test due to the fact of the amount of accidents that have occured since it first started. They have also cancelled her training as there is no point practicing for a test that will be made reduntant. She said that they would know more towards the end of July as the DSA have asked all the training centres how they can encorporate the Mod1 tests into the road test (even though those tests are done in the CBT). Has anybody else heard this rumour as I am a bit stuck as to what to do. Cheers JT
  15. I would honestly hold fire mate, I was up at StreetBike at the weekend and was told by quite a few people (including people who are running training for their mod 1) that the DSA are now going to scrap the Mod 1 now due to the amount of accidents that have occured since the test was first introduced. I have been told that close to the End of July we will know more and if they are. gutted you failed though mate, I think the speed trap is honestly quite pointless. Cheers JT
