  1. Congratulations and welcome, here's to nicer weather asap lol
  2. Nice one, I found mod1 to be the worst, bit of a goldfish bowl experience. Get the mod2 booked and enjoy
  3. I failed my first one by going to slpw on the swerve, 49kph, gutted!! You'll be fine next time, at least you know exactly what to expect
  4. hi all, just to say i passed my mod 2 today in Aberystwyth, great feeling when he said i passed, only one minor to, for going a bit to slow on a stretch between a 40 and a 30, i realised i was going to slow, so next time i was in a 60 i gave it some. Examiner was great, really put me to ease, and was very approachable, human even lol. Next dilemma, what bike, something tells me it's now that the trouble begins
  5. Sounds like a lose lose situation, surely the idea of basic training is to train you to ride a bike. As you said, in a car, auto test, auto license, manual test, manual license. I was worried about the possibility of doing my cbt on an auto, but my instructor agreed that it would be a waste of time, especially for someone like me who had never ridden a bike before, so i needed to learn how to ride a manual bike, which is surely one of the reasons behind a cbt! To learn! At the end of the day, your boy is the customer, if he wants to learn on a manual, then thats what he should do, even if he needs extra training.
  6. Thanks guys, to be honest, i found the test ok both times, my own fault failed first one, but the slow handling etc, i felt i learned more training for mod1 than i did while on CBT, but thats juts me i guess lol. Here's to saving a bit of cash and book mod 2
  7. HI all, just to let you know, failed first attempt 6 days ago, some how managed to get a date today, and i passed, no minors, happy days, very relieved, and very happy. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement on my previous posts guys, here's to Mod2
  8. Comgratulations mate, I failed mine first time on the 27th, (tuesday)swerve being 1 kph to slow. Luckily I managed to get a slot for the 2nd of August, so will only have to wait 6 days. Like you i was ok on everything else, just hope that'll be the case again on Monday. Well done again,
  9. Well, tried my mod 1 today in Swansea, failed un-fortunately, to slow on the swerve, my highest recorded was 49 kph, gutted. I was quite nervous with the other manouvers, but i came through them no problems. The only part i was relaxed, was the one that let me down lol. Still, onwards and upwards, got another test for the 23rd of August, so fingers crossed. Looking back, one thing i'd recomend now on my experience, use the curve to build your speed up!! (unlike me )
  10. failed mod 1 today, hazard avoidance, 1kph to slow here's to the re-sit, 23rd august
  11. Thanks for the tips guys, i'll be on a CB500, so no worries about ability of bike to hit speed.
  12. Only a few days left now, and hopefully Mod1 will be ticked off. Been reading all the posts here about other people experiences, very helpfull will let you know how i get on, heres to getting on the road before autumn
  13. Hi all, got my theory booked for the 6th of July, loved every minute of my CBT, was nervous mind as i had never ridden a motorbike on the road before then, one step at a time though
