  1. Do I have to tell insurer I've passed my Mod 2 or do I say when I next re-insure? I have read that it will cost me ~£40 for any change to my insurance which seems a lot when my insurance only cost £120 - TPF&T for a YBR 125
  2. Thanks for all the well wishes. L Plates off Cut my travelling time home by 10 mins (straight down motorway) Can't wait to get bigger bike
  3. But passed in Blackburn this morning. Had minor for making too much progress - lost examiner in retail park due to him having to stop (in car) with lot of lorries/coaches etc.. Should stop smiling soon - perhaps New Ninja 250 soon I think
  4. Took test today @ Failsworth, Manchester, weather was horrible - light rain through whole test. Thought I'd done ok but failed on missing to slow down at an umarked cross roads on a maze of back roads. Also got one minor for not being near enough to corner when turning left. Ready to try again - fingers crossed
  5. Did mine yesterday and passed (third attempt - observation and speed through emergency stop were first two failures). Keep calm and remember to breathe. Take time listening to examiner between phases - helped calm me down - had a small breather between emergency stop and avoidance which was offered by the examiner. Good Luck
  6. Today was the day !! Passed - no faults Whole thing went smoothly. Arrived @ 8:00 this morning. Nice chill in the air, dry and a little cloudy. Did 50 for emergency stop. No wasted effort and 52 for avoidance. Thanks for well wishes. Mod 2 here I come.
  7. FAILED AGAIN - third time lucky Everything was fine this time - glorious sunshine - arrived in plenty of time - failed on OBSERVATIONS this time - gutted Try again next Tuesday
  8. Figured out last night what I was doing wrong I was holding the throttle with my thumb and covering the brake with fingers ready for the stop instead of riding as normal i.e. releasing the throttle and then braking. In normal circumstances i.e. not waiting for an emergency stop, I have no problems braking quickly Thanks for the support
  9. This afternoon didn't go very well. Got soaked going into work and was still rather moist when it came to test @ 3.00. Nerves got the best of me when doing the Emergency Stop and held throttle partly open open so bike was revving when I stopped. Try again (only 2nd attemp( on Monday. Hope the weather and nerves are better
  10. Thanks for the quick answers. Think I'll go ahead and get one. Let you know my experience later
  11. Hi all, it's proabably been asked before but I can't find it I have a YBR 125 that I use mainly to commute to and from work approx 12 Miles. I always have lunch, bike lock, phone etc.. that I carry at the moment in a smallish rucksack. I was thinking of fitting a small top box and was wondering if and how it affects riding thanks
  12. Looks really interesting - will devour tonight
  13. A month ago I had never been on a bike butg had driven a car for years. Did a one hour trial session which I really enjoyed, only drove in 1st, 2nd and third gears (in a school playground). Following Sunday took CBT . Had a great day. The gears seemed to come natually. It was a bit tricky riding slow at first slippin' clutch. Following Sunday (that was two weeks ago) picked up new YBR 125 which I've used for commuting to work every day. Don't even think about gears now Just relax and enjoy it
