  1. Thanks for the support with your comments. I am qualified in stating what happened, I was there and you were not. Remind me not to bother anymore.
  2. 140 mile round trip in Mid Wales today, taking in the Elan Valley Dams and Llyn Clywedog. A nice mix of roads and nice weather for the time of year.
  3. Yesterday we were sorting out my front tyre, reseating it to get the bead to seat properly. So today we took the bikes out for a 151 mile round trip with a stop off or Cors Caron near Tregaron. What a wonderful mix of roads we rode along.
  4. When I tried this for my bike it advised me to ask the manufacturer. I am glad you got a better result than I. No offence was intended, just found the link itself to be vague when I used it before.
  5. One of my favourite places ever. Can imagine it was a lovely place to camp. Nice one!
  6. The link really is useless (have checked this out before) so don't know why the government put that up as it basically says, check with the manufacturer. As for compatibility - I seriously doubt that this stuff is any good for any vehicle, as it will drag all the crud out of a tank through the fuel system...even on a modern vehicle. Just don't spill it on paintwork which isn't fuel proof...
  7. I think we'll just head out on the bikes, preferably into mid Wales but depends on the weather...
  8. Looks like the the Elan Valley estate, the mountain road from Rhayader to Devils Bridge, about a mile after the turning to the dams?
  9. I'm not a chemist, but have gathered that the increase in ethanol is the problem...and it can dislodge any debris in the tank & cause fuelling issues due to blocked jets..........
  10. Don't spill E10 on any paintwork which isn't lacquered.....as it acts as a paint stripper... Took the tank off the GT to check the coils and fuel leaked from the tap over the gearbox casing...not a happy person now. Worse than brake fluid.
  11. We like the AA as we have a number of older vehicles in our possession. We've managed to save a few hundred quid over the past couple of years by ringing them up and threatening to leave - they end up reducing the premium to match the new member price. Whatever happened to loyalty discount? (They've also fixed our price for the next renewal as well...)
  12. My bike is from 1982, my car 1985. If E5 is only available at limited outlets then I'm restricted on my travelling.
  13. Hi, Wasn't sure which part of the forum to post this, found via the M&P Instagram page tonight. Doesn't bode well for older vehicles and the guidance is shockingly shite from the Government (no surprises there then...) https://www.mandp.co.uk/workshop-tips-tricks/e10-petrol-explained-know-your-fuel
  14. PS. Highways agency have shackled the A44 from Llangurig to Ponterwyd with a 50mph speed limit...
  15. 160 mile round trip on Archy today, partly to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my ADR Cervical Surgery on a mix of roads. Absolutely love the Machynlleth - Dylife mountain road. Definitely finding my mojo on the GT. Happy days.
  16. 111 miles to Llandovery and back today. Met some great people in Llandovery too. Came back on the A483 over Sugar Loaf.
  17. Ended up doing 165 mile round trip through the Brecon Beacons, towards Swansea and back along the A465 to Hereford then home. Not bad for only my 8th trip on the GT (now christened Archy). I love this bike and am so glad I bought it. . Apologies for the map being the wrong orientation, this phone leaves me feeling very technically challenged at times...
  18. And yesterday I cleaned the bike (not perfect either)
  19. A couple of days late but needed badly to destress from work on Thursday so took the bikes to Caban Coch reservoir in the Elan Valley - lovely evening of riding, not too much traffic around so getting more used to the handling of the GT750 & being back on a bike in general. And yes, it was cathartic, the complete reset I badly needed. (My team leader resorted to Prosecco to unwind - know which I'd rather)
  20. So what to do with a dirty bike? Take it for a 52 mile round trip into Wales after work. Highly recommended, managed to unwind from the stresses of the working day. Bike still needs cleaning though...
  21. Thanks @Ian Frog for the good wishes. Enjoy your visit to the 'Shire' in June - hope the weather picks up for you!
  22. Took the GT out for a ride, other half on the Triumph (with a fresh MOT & battery - hooray!). Looked at the rainfall map from the Met Office - nothing of any consequence til 5pm (allegedly). I got soaked as my trusty old IXL textile jacket is no longer waterproof. So have bought an Oxford jacket, trousers and back protector from SportsBikeDirect using the affiliate link on here. Managed to do 55 miles today.
