  1. There's plenty of those ubiquitous hotelly things around our area, so if there's a huge herd of us likely to be attending then it's always a possibility. We're going to be full next year as we have my wee'un that weekend unless I manage to change the dates for that. What I'm hoping to be able to do is something like: Friday evening: All who can get there come to a knees-up for the evening (not too kneesy-uppy seeing as we need our wits about us on the Saturday) Saturday AM: Meet up at the village Green early-ish, have a chinwag, then off to the meet-up point in convoy) Saturday afternoon/evening: Have a right good old knees up somewhere! Sunday: Die of hangovers quietly Planning starts right now!
  2. I'm flamin ill! Hoping it clears up for tomorrow but . . . fingers crossed
  3. Kindof hoping it'll be Egg Banjos for 51 next year mate. I'll be talking to the local Council to see if we can use our lovely village green as a meet point for as many bikes/peeps as possible and maybe have something to feed us all on the Green. Just a thought, like!
  4. We'll have to organise something for the morning AND the evening I reckon!
  5. It'll certainly teach you the art of hanging on for dear life, for sure!
  6. We'll be there again. Not missing this for the world!
  7. Nice to see so many unexpected peeps from here too Akey! Fingers crossed we'll be able to do something a little "bigger" next year in terms of meeting up and maybe something afterwards - the local pub in Findern might be up for us all descending on it for an evening's entertainment!
  8. No idea where my last post disappeared to, PC problems this end I think! Suffice to say, Del and I had a amazing day! It was great to welcome so many of you to ours yesterday morning, and we'll definately be doing something very similar (probably on a much bigger scale) next year. What a day! Apologies for disappearing early though, needed drugs wich were at home! Sheepy and Del
  9. It now looks like there'll be a few more peeps coming to ours tomorrow morning from the RBL Riders branch to meet up before we set off. Maybe some recruitment possibilities In all seriousnessnessnessness, tomorrow should be fantastic. Looking forward to seeing those coming over (and your friends, if you're bringing them too). Sheepster
  10. Not all of us Thankfully Righto, the day is looming large now so here's the plan (as it stands right now at least!) Anyone joining us should aim to be at ours for 09:15 latest, as we're aiming to hit Tamworth Services for 09:45 to join the 100 or so other there. From there on in, follow the herd! If you get to ours before 9, you'll be regaled with coffee, tea, bacon sarnies and/or egg banjos. ...and we won't set the Hound from Hell onto you either See you all tomorrow morning Ride Safe Sheepy and Del
  11. Mate, there's always next year! Condolences to you and yours
  12. The fishpond is out of bounds on the day mate, as they use it for a turning circle for the coaches from Cromford Meadows. Get there early and either use the railway station or the signposted "big" car park and ride at Cromford.
  13. That's a real bummer matey! Next year then . . . we won't save you an egg banjo though, it might be a bit previous by then!
  14. Hit the fecker with a hammer and tell it that it's GOT to work
  15. Grew up with bikes as my Dad was racing until I was about 6, so always had various bikes in various states of disassemblage in the garage from very young. It's in my blood I guess. Plus the 26 mile commute into Shottingham, ooops, Snotingaham, ooops again, Nottingham from near Burton would take me about nine hours in the car, each way.
  16. Hey, fingers crossed Akey, as long as you're on two wheels (you could borrow our Jason's Piaggio NRG if things got totally desperate I jest, of course. Looking forward to seeing the neighbours' faces on Saturday morning when everyone sets off!
  17. Oh Bongo Lima X-Ray (BLX) Chin up Akey, they might come through yet!
  18. It's going to be a great day, I know that much!
  19. Noooo, not a place to go to!!! Anyhoo, by my crazy reckoning, if everyone makes it to ours, we should be setting off in a group of around . . . . . (drum roll) . . 30 bikes Providing everyone gets there, of course!
  20. If you do, just follow all the other bikes I reckon!
  21. We also have 16-20 coming in from Humberside, peeps. They should be arriving at ours around 9am, so we might have to hang fire on the Tamworth meet, or just blast past there en route to DMP. Either way, Akey's right, it's gonna be mental!
  22. Fingers crossed for half-decent weather on the day. Likely timings as follows (after consulting with some Oracle-like peeps elsewhere) anytime prior to 08:30 - meet at ours - Egg Banjos, don't forget! Depart Findern for Tamworth Services approx 08:50 Arrive Tamworth Services approx 09:20 Depart Tamworth Services approx whenever!!! Unless anyone else has any ideas, of course!
  23. Quite possibly, but we have an advantage - those strange modern techy things called mobile jellybones
