  1. Can't decide between a triumph thruxton 900 or giving a herald 400 cafe a try? Both lovely looking motorcycles. Prefer the herald looks but I'm not sure about rust or reliability or its power. The thruxton 900 I like the look but it's a lot more money. I'm open minded to all other options though. I'm 6ft tall and 18 stone. Looking for a nice bike to do weekend country lanes and coastal cruising. Budget is around 4-5k. Doesnt need to be particularly fast, but I dont want slow and sluggish. Something in the middle would be great. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. Nice one guys, thanks for the heads up. Yeah he was advertising on Ebay but could only communicate through email. Definitely a scam. Much appreciate the support guys, will avoid. Dont suppose there is any way of reporting or catching these guys???
  3. He's asking 3.5k for an XSR900 that's only done about 8hundred or 8thousands miles. Its worth 6k easy. So it must be a scam surely
  4. It's in the northern most reaches of Scotland actually (somewhere called Wick,) and I'm in southern England. It's far too much of a drive to be travelling for a viewing.
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. I've decided to swerve it and take your advice..many thanks
  6. He's sent me a picture of himself, a picture of himself holding his driving license and the log book in his name. Said the bike was his brothers (who passed away recently.) I'm suspicious myself but so far everything matches up and seems okay??? Thanks for the reply
  7. Should have mentioned that the bike is in this country (england) but the guy lives in Spain
  8. Looking to purchase a bike from somebody overseas. The seller has suggested using OFX.com as we are unable to meet in person to make the sale or view the bike. He says that they offer a service that gives me 7 days after receiving the bike to cancel the deal and get my money back in full. The funds aren't realised to him until after 7 days and only if I'm satisfied. Has anybody used this service before? And would they recommend?
  9. As the title suggest I'm relatively new to the world of motorcycles having just recently passed my test. A quick bit about me: I've been riding for just over 2 years but only on a Yamaha MT125 (which I found fun but quickly grew out of.) Trained and took my test on a Kawasaki Z650 (which I found abit boring and uninspiring.) I'm 6ft1, 18+ stone and looking for a beefy kinda bike to cruise about on over the summer weekends. Not for commuting and not a maniac for speed. I've been obsessing about my next bike since I bought my first bike and have spent 2 years trying to figure out what is best for me, my riding style, my ability, my size and for the type of riding I would like to be doing. I think I know what I want but without riding an endless amount of bikes I just find myself flip flopping between a few and then going full circle back to the start where I was 2 years ago . I think I've narrowed it down to the XSR900 and the XJR1300 (newer models.) I really like the retro/modern vibe and naked sports bike look. However, I'm quite a reserved rider looking for a sensible bike with decent power but not something that is gonna tempt me to be a hooligan. Are either of these 2 bikes a decent idea for me or is there a better option? Any advice or assistance would be massively appreciated thanks in advance
