How you getting on with the bike? I really do love the look of the new Street Triple R and would of bought one. But the bike aint practical for me as i would need to get a top box for it, and that would look horrible on the bike. So i bought a Tiger 800XC instead, as you can see in my review. How many miles do you get on a full tank?

Purchased: November 2012 Mileage (current): 600 Accesseries: Arrow Head Exhausts, Top Box Price: £9569 Well i did what i said i would in my Hornet review in 2010 and trade up in a couple years Due to poo weather and being busy ive only done 600 odd miles on it, but hopefully that'll change soon. I really am enjoying the bike its alot of fun. Kinda funny i went down to the dealers to buy the road version, we started talking numbers and out of the corner of my eye i saw it, in its green glory. It was quite high up for me (im 6ft) so had the seat lowered now its perfect. The seating and riding position is great i just feel like i could sit on it allday, and the handlebars position forces you to situp right making you feel superior Coming from my Hornet 600cc to this 800cc i didnt think there was gonna be much difference, but oh there is. I can rideoff in 2nd gear with no trouble, i can go up an extremely steep hill (porlock hill) in 2nd no trouble. The acceleration seems even better and i look behind me coming away from traffic lights thinking did the light go green how come they aint moved yet Some people have complained about the windscreen not being any good. But i think its great coming from a bike that didnt have one. The tank range is about 200-220 miles which is a massive stepup from my Hornet that did about 140-150 miles. I like the display telling me when my next service is, but i dont like how you got to go through about 3 or 4 button presses to see your mileage. Also one negative is the brakes, i really dont think their as good as my Hornet at all. Sure they work but they dont seem to be as responsive at stopping me quicker. So yeah, i love my new bike and hope to do some proper miles when the weather decides to play ball. I would recommend this too anyone. Brilliant review, i know very little about ducati bikes but apart from the myth that their expensive to service and get parts. But ive got about 2 years before i change my Hornet for a newer bike, and im really thinking a ducati could be on the table.

That looks well fun, i would love to do something like that. Is this for long term members or do you guys know each other.

So was it your kill switch? Sounds like a bit of an adventure... glad you're still smiling about it It wasn't that is a bit more dumb than that I always told myself that i would be gutted and heart broken if i damaged my bike. But i was not too bothered i just thought it can be fixed as if it never happened. The damage: Clutch control has been moved slightly downwards, it aint bent or anything its just moved. A small dent on the tank, luckily its right on the word honda so you cant see it so much. Very minor scratches on the engine.

well im back after only staying 1 night instead of staying till friday Basically sunday i got there, was a really good journey all 360 miles of it. I got at the B&B to find my phone broke. So my mum and grandparents were worried about me as they havent heard from me since i left. The B&B was really nice and when it came into view the sun was out in full beam, making the chapel/B&B glow Anyway i decided to go out shortly after to find something for diner, leaving my phone there to dry off. Then it happened i came off the bike at a juction. I toppled to the floor with bike just on my foot, i managed to get it off. But couldnt lift it up until someone drove passed and he helped me, then left. Problem was i couldnt start the bike, so i tried to see if i could sort it but gave up I was in the middle of no where and had no phone. I had to wait about 20 mins till i saw a car i flagged him down (read as hands flapping like a crazy person) and they let me use there phone to ring Green Flag. I waited an hour and a half then decided out of boredom try my bike again. It worked, i shall not reveal the problem as its really embarresing I waited 15 mins for the Green Flag man but he still didnt show. So i raced back to the nearest payphone to let Green Flag know that i didnt need them. I made my way back to the B&B starving, luckily they made me a sandwich and homemade cookies, then off to bed. Today i woke up at 7:30am and had a nice shower and a very big and delicious breakfast. Just chilled in my room to 10:00am, then thought i better pay them. Looked in my wallet and my debit card was gone, and i cant really remember the last time i saw it So i phoned up my bank freezed my account and got another card on the way sometime next week. I had £80 in my wallet, i still had to pay for the B&B. He only wanted a fiver, as i paid for the deposit online ages ago so i was covered for the night So i made way home i left about 10:40am and got home at 6:00pm, i still enjoyed the journey ended up being about survivakl with only a limited amount of funds

Going to Brampton up in Northumberland for 5 days. Really looking forward to it, as its 362 miles away. I have never done that distance before, the furthest ive been is about 200 miles. Ill be leaving sunday about 6:00am and its gonna take roughly 7 hours with the fuel stops and rests inbetween. Ill be staying in a nice B&B which used to be a chapel (still got its stain glassed windows) it was on a tv program back in 2007 about being renovated into a B&B and has won a few awards. So basically its nice, ill be using it as a base point for all my rideouts around that area. I should imagine ill do a 1000 miles on the trip with the ride there and back equalling 724miles.

What model was it? Honda Hornet CB600F ABS 2010 When did you buy it and how much did it cost? Febuary 2010 (had to wait nearly 3 weeks till march 1st to have it with the 10' plates) £5500 (£1000 discount, sold 125cc bike) Good points? Excellent starter bike for me, a very gentle learning bike. But when your ready its got enough power to stand side by side with the rest of the 600cc bikes. The handling is very responsive and the ABS is very good. Bad points? Didnt come with a rear hugger so i had to buy that myself. Also didnt come with a cover on the part of the tank where my jacket button kept knocking it leaving a very minor scratch. Would you get another? Probably not as i would want something different. I am looking at getting another bike in 2-3 years time, which most likely be a Honda as there an awesome company and make very nice bikes that keep on going.

Anyone notice what i forgot to buy......chain lube

Well i've been a bit mean to my bike by not looking after it. All i do is clean it with the hose and rub it down after some Mr sheen cleaner. Anyway i want to start looking after my chain and break disc. So i bought the following: Muc-Off Biodegradable De-Greaser Muc-Off Quick Drying Chain Cleaner Muc-Off Disc Brake Cleaner I heard Muc-Off products are pretty good and alot of you on here use it. Anyway after reading the helpful sticky on the chain, i couldnt find much info on cleaning the break disc. Im sure its simple to do just spray it and rub it with a cloth. But how often do you need to clean the break disc?

Welldone that sounds awesome, i never heard of these events and i would love to try that one day. I ride a Honda Hornet 600cc the tank can do about 150 miles before needing to fill up would that be a problem.

Well phoned up thursday to see if my jacket is ready, and they tell me its still being repaired. So i had enough, went down there and had a right go at them. The manager was good to be fair, and just gave me a brand new jacket with the new zip.

Just sent my jacket back to HG as the zip needs repairing. They told me that it is a problem with that kind of zip, but that could be because i might have an early model where they had that problem. Good news is that im getting the zip replaced with the newer ones that dont have that problem. It will be ready next week, now ive got to put my old jacket on.

On my way in about an hour, to hayle in cornwall. Really looking forward to going its gonna be a nice ride down there, and it should take a couple hours maybe longer if i stop halfway. Im not sure on the distance but if i jump on the motorway it would be 148 miles. But of course im not i will be going the scenic route (whatever my satnav tells me as i have motorways switched off) and i cant wait. Ill be staying down there in the caravan from sunday to friday. And ill be getting lots of miles under me when im down there, ill have to checkout st ives and lands end when im down there.

Just come back from Heine Gericke and bought the kit. Im in awe of it, its just awesome. It must weigh like twice my old cheap kit, and it also feels twice as safe. The zip is quite cool, as its a new Gore Lockout. Which means no zip as its a seal which stops water coming in. Speaking of water, its 100% waterproof even the slightest drop of water that gets through ill get new kit. I also bought the latest Daytona boots called Daytona Shair GTX, there really nice. They fit perfectly and their also goretex, they cost me £280 so they better last Anyway i cant wait to go on my bike tomorrow to test them out, i do hope its raining

I will ask for a dicount, even if its a tiny amount its something. Going down thursday to get it, i cant wait

Yep i know several people with HG goretex kit and they all love it. If you don't need the kit now, sometimes they do some good offers like save £40 when you spend £200 etc. cool i hope theres that kind of offer when i go. Im not in any major rush to buy it, but i would like to get it before i go on holiday in 4 weeks time.

I passed my test last year and i still got my crappy old clothes (cost me like £200 ) and its starting to show. Anyway im going down Heine Gericke next week as i hear there meant to be a pretty awesome store. My budget is about £800, im hoping that will be enough for some fairly good kit. I ride my bike all year round so i guess im best off with textiles, what is gortex as i hear thats pretty good?

Well im seriously thinking of going nextweek, so ive got a rough plan on where im going the satnav will do the rest. I start at Bridgwater, then get to Applecross inbetween ill probably have to spend the night in a B&B/Hotel as its about 650-700 miles. But my adventure (is that the right word for this) doesnt end there. Ill headup to Joan o Groats which is about 250-300 miles. Then at last i head home back to bridgwater which is a nice 800-850 miles. Its probably gonna take 4-5 days maybe longer, depending on how early i get up and how many breaks i have. My questions: 1. How much roughy will this cost in fuel i think it will be about £300? 2. A little worried about leaving my bike outside when im asleep in a Hotel/BB, is there anything i can do, or any advice?
