  1. yes mate, although im probably going to end up joining north glouster since i know a couple in there already
  2. What do the plugs look like? Do the plugs give a blue spar if you short them against the frame and turn the engine over? after turning over the engine with the plugs in, if it does not fire up, quickly pull the plugs and check to see if they are damp and covered in fuel? What does the air filter look like? can you see fuel passing through the newly installed in line filter? did the carbs actually get taken apart, all jets removed and all that jazz? im asuming you got the pilot settings back to normal (if they have them?) no vaccume leaks?
  3. actually it depends, do you want to go fast or do you want to get your knee down, because the answer is different depending on that!
  4. Im about to start racing the twins with NG, im interested to hear other riders experiences.
  5. i have pal, you can do the training online but you have to sit the exam in a registered exam centre, most traingin is face to face to be fair..............also this training is long and boring
  6. one trick to make riding in wind easier is to get your chest down on the tank and keep low to the bike. as above, a light touch on the bars combined with this make things much eaiser
  7. i dont on the road, theres sod all point. i would really really steer away from practicing on roundabouts and things, this is where overfilled lorrys tanks dump desiel, screw that. same with bus routes. Also roundabouts do sod all for corner practice since they pretty much do away with the most important parts of a corner on a bike - entry and exit! remember its not about lean angle, the more upright you keep the bike- the more available traction so you get to gun it even harder! if your keen for performance riding, get on the track its a no brainer, all you do is lean and stick your knee out...you do need to hang off the bike a little.
  8. on some engines there is a bolt that goes through the side of the engine to stop the cam chain falling in there, either way make sure you cable tie it to the top of the motor so you dont drop it, its not as fun as fishing beleive me....i droped a piston circlip down in to the crack once, not fun!

    Engine mounts...

course it can be welded. take the motor minus oil etc and have a welder fix it up, depending on the mount they can even make a new mount out of weld. it wont cost much but theres some work involved in getting the motor out and over to a welder.
  10. i love smoking - ill smoke till the day i die
  11. in russia, some prisons are much worse than death. i dont think the state should have the power to kill its 'subject' or citzens personally, they cant even fix potholes in road properly let alone execute people
  12. i got some compzones, i must say they are bloody hot, too much at the track, but a great boot and really good protection, comfortable, theyre more like my snowboard boots than any other boot ive owned! gotta say i do like my old knackered Sidis for theyre being light, thin and really comfy when its just too hot. dont expect to get jeans over them or anything!! i dont think is wear them as an everyday boot by choice, i would look at some of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TCX-SS-SPORT- ... 588f2c5fe7 cuz when your feet are wet in winter it dont matter how much padding is in there it will get cold! also they take ages to dry out if you get the soaked! mate has the gortex version and they seem to let just as much water in!
  13. im right next to bracknell, out everyday on the bike one way or the other but always up for a spin. hit me witha PM if your out
  14. bad news. the firm is not in great financial health, theyre going to need to make a few more keyboards to balance the books next year i shoud think!
  15. if you can get a diagram you best option may be to buy a load of wire - some soldering kit and redo it all. cheaper and you can circuit test the lot as you do it. shrink wrap it all and some trusty electrical tape should make a nice job of it.do one bit at a time and use new wires on each component, you will need to make sure you use a thick guage of wire for alternators / stators / regulator rectifiers etc
  16. maybe take a picture too so we can see, AJPs stuff is normally alright, a lot of trials bike have ajp brakes, like gas gas and betas etc id agree with above advice to try a syringe and reverse bleed it up from the caliper
  17. i do 500+ miles a week, i have tired all sorts, all the dry chain lube i found was a bit pants ive tried castrols stuff, PDL, Wurth, HG works stuff, silkolene (which was alright but not great) and many many more. The only product i use now is Motul road chain lube.....it never flings and after a week of abuse the chain is still lubed and it protects the cahin through bad weather very well and more than often stays clean better than any other. it dries very tacky but nothing seems to stick to it. the good hting is when applying it it foams up really well and soack right into the chain links. worth the money! parafin to clean! cheapest method by far i have found
  18. does sound carb related. do you get wet plugs on the the cyls not firing at all?
  19. Anybody about? after about 2pm i was going to go for a ride, might end up at box or loomies, maybe a 272 not really sure yet, if anybody else is out let me know!

    ACF - 50

i don drive a car, i ride all year round and i can tell you one thing, my bikes have been protectected against the salt and daily rain each and everyday from that stuff, i spray it in to a small pot and paint it on all over the bike with a small paint brush. worth every single penny. you get a lot in a can but by painting it you can save loads. i use it on exposed metals but use it sparingly, i can make a can last a couple of months and i have to clean my bike at least once a week because of the miles i do dont get it near tyres or brakes though! duh!
