  1. Makes you wonder how some of these muppets got a driving license at all
  2. I noticed when I changed bikes that a lot more people pulled out in front of me on the Honda Cb 500X with its small led headlight Hardly anyone pulled out in front of me on the Kawasaki Versys with its Huge headlight which I had also swapped to Led (I was wearing a white helmet on both bikes ) I installed 2 led lights on the Honda on a bar under the main light these were flood rather than spot lights and it seems to have made a difference I also wear a fluro type ( big yellow patches ) Jacket I also think Yellow colored spots would be a good choice to get noticed

    Forks gone?

Must admit when i seen that photo I thought someone had run in to it for both to get pushed up like that Glad to see he got it sorted though
  4. Usually just the side stand for me But I always get off the bike to fill it as I am afraid of scratching the paintwork or dripping petrol all over it 17.7L tank on the 500X
  5. If it works without them there were not necessary
  6. There is an app for converting your photos in to AI My CB500 X near Lough Tay ( the Guinness Lake ) And below the AI generated version from the photo
  7. And miss all that fun
  8. I also use MRA free version with my XT and had no problems creating a route I usually create a route on the pc ( Big Screen ) and email it to myself and when I open the email on the phone garmin drive sends the route to the XT
  9. Those ultrasonic cleaners are a great yoke
  10. I have already installed a double waterproof socket on the side of the house about 3 feet from the bike and diden't want to be trailing a extension lead on the wet ground So I thought it should be straight forward enough to replace the power cord with a longer one to get me all the way round the bike Warranty doesen't bother me too much as it was not too expensive and if there was an issue then sending it back from Ireland to the UK for repair / replacement would be a small hassle so happy enough to just replace the cord with a longer one with molded plug
  11. Would it not be cheaper / easier to buy one? something like this https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbr1100xx-superblackbird-1999-x-usa-california_model7258/pipe-oil-return_15241mat000/ Not sure of your exact bike model but same pipe may be fitted to other models
  12. I bought a small hand held air blower on amazon to blow the bike dry after washing it as I did not like to leave it wet under the cover About the size of a skil saw but very powerful Any time I wash the bike now I give it a blast with this before putting the cover on I will change the mains cable on it as it is a little short for my liking I have taken it apart to see whats involved and it would be straight forward to replace with a longer lead
  13. Looks a lot smaller than I thought Do the staples hold the fiberglass together ok or will you put more fibreglass over the staples?
  14. You could possibly get a plastic welding machine with the hot staples They go on Amazon / ebay for about 25 quid https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plastic-Welding-Machine-Staplers-Repairing/dp/B08X6VMYRS/ref=asc_df_B08X6VMYRS/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=499292497816&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2383161695211935559&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007843&hvtargid=pla-1225380420916&mcid=4c1871dd1b4c338eaa58f2d685d52b46&th=1 Never used one myself though so not sure if they work on a fairing No doubt someone with more experience will chime in and say if it is a good or bad Idea
  15. Yeah I thought that too so I went in to Halfords Did not have a spring puller so I came out with a Noco Battery Jumper instead Go Figure I will have a look around the shed to see if there is anything I can bend in to shape don't think I even have an old wire coat hangar though EDIT: Just had a look on youtube and will see if there is an old bucket handle I can re-purpose
  16. Removed and wire brushed the main stand as there was some corrosion on it I gave it a coat of Dinitrol rust converter primer and have given it a 1st coat of enamel black Will give it another coat tomorrow and refit sometime during the week weather permitting Needless to say I stabbed myself in the hand with a screwdriver removing the springs bound to happen with my luck
  17. You are doing a great job so far well done Should be great when all done and dusted
  18. I also got the Helmet specific Sena for my HJC Does not work well with the Garmin XT and also read elsewhere that others had issues with Sena and Garmin noisy / crackling Bluetooth Have heard good things about Cardo so might be worth a look + If you get a new lid you can move the headset to that which you cant do with Helmet specific ones
  19. Getting ready for summer I put in an outside tap and a double power outlet on the side of the house as I was fed up dragging the watering can through the house to clean the bike So after a test blast with the karcher I got out in the little bit of sunshine we had
  20. Is it possible the cable is sticking and not releasing all the way I would remove the cable and test / clean & lubricate and reinstall
  21. Did Mine in 2022 @56 years young Theory test €45 IBT (CBT) €350 ( Cat A test ) Lessons before Test €100 1.5hrs Bike Rental for Test ( As Versys 650 was not Cat A ) €180 Actual Test €85 It was snowing and blowing a gale on the day but passed with 0 faults
