  1. Bought a genuine Kawa windshield to fit to my 2011 er6n. The instructions that come with it are useless. Clearly they're hoping ill take it back to the dealer to fit. Anyone fitted one of these successfully?

Yep, sorry - meant ACF 50. Cheers all, bike going in for its first service next week, will cover it after that.

Apart from brakes and tyres, is there anywhere else this can't be applied? Not sure what to do with it to be honest - just a case of spray it everywhere there's metal?
  4. I think the system as it stands makes sense and I speak as someone who is restricted to 33bhp until 2013. Also 15bhp is more than enough for learners: ybf125s will do 80mph - what more do you need away from the motorway?
  5. Not sure if this is the right forum, but does anyone else like these? The Woodsman in particular appeals to me. But I've always been a bit different! And being 27bhp, I'd be able to ride one. Bit expensive though...
  6. I'm well over 35 and have had bikes since I was 17...maybe I'm just a crap rider!
  7. What do you mean by the bike has a tendency to *SHIVERS* tramline? Anyone know what this means? "tramlines on the road", the road damage or grooves and ruts left by HGVs/tractors etc which can take you off course a bit. Not nice, but a common problem with thin wheels.
  8. Soon got past the 90 mile mark, which according to the handbook lets me use 6000 rpm, which was about 50mph. Still another 3000rpm to go, so very pleased. Great bike so far, but has a tendency to tramline -new tyres definitely needed.
  9. Sorry, when I said Chinese, I meant it's a genuine yamaha, but made in their Chinese factory rather than japan. Glad to hear that the newer tyres are much better though. I'll give them a going over once I've got a few miles on them.
  10. I tend to get the nod even with L plates. Does your YBR have after market tyres? Because my YBR is japanese not chinese. I'm pretty sure mine's Chinese. I'll be honest, I thought they all were. Bought the bike new, so they're stock tyres.
  11. Well, rode it from Hull to York today and although I couldn't go much over 40, and was scrubbing in those Chinese tyres, it still felt capable. Looking forward to getting some miles on the clock. Very comfortable riding position. Hopefully once I get the l plates off next month a few bikers might nod
  12. Does the higher wattage bulb have any effect on the electricals? I had read it was strained anyway and batteries needed to be charged regularly.
  13. Thanks all. Sounds like halogen bulb and tyre replacements are a must. 50mph will do me for now. Even if I pass my mod 2 retake next month.
  14. I bought it to get some miles under my belt (haven't ridden for 12 years), pass my Mod 2 and get to work and back. Most will be town riding, but would like to take it to the coast every now and again. Had considered waiting until I passed my test (am only doing the restricted test due to budget) and then getting a 250 but from what I've seen, the extra cost for the CBF250 or YBR250 doesn't really justify itself performance wise. Hopefully in two years, my YBR will have kept a decent value on trade in, should I get something bigger.
  15. Am picking up a new one at the weekend. Have ridden a CG125 and used to own a GS125. Thought the YBR was about the same and bought it on that basis, but am now reading that it is incredibly slow. Will it cruise at 55mph? And is 65 actually possible for anyone who isn't 17 years old and 10 stone? Really beginning to think I've made a mistake.
