  1. so I am in the market for a Tracer 900 GT- not the latest one which has the twin clocks.I like the 2018-2020 one in blue! But after a Honda NC 750 and then a VFR1200 -both DCT -I got fed up with the first]s lack of power and the seconds sheer bulk-best part of 300 kilos. Both suffered from crap suspension so both had full Maxton upgrades. The seat issue has been the same on EVERY bike I have owned since 1990 - why the hell can't they make them for bigger people rather than little far east folk? so It seems that you buy a bike then if you are going touring-rather than a cafe visitor -you have to budget for seat, suspension and the screen for a Tracer! Oh and tyres -so say in all about £1500-2000 Seems that the Triumph 900 hasn't got all these faults -but costs £3k more- maybe that's it ,built down to a price. anyway if anyone has one like I want would welcome you to contact me-in north shropshire.
  2. Yes the long awaited Af twin engine in a touring chassis -but its so boring i cant even be bothered to go and view one.A Deauville with bigger motor?
  3. Mike i would welome yor advice.I sold a VFR1200x crosstourer DCT after spending a grand on uprating the suspension - and found it too daunting on starting, rolling about and stopping as 290 kilos takes a bit of holding up - and you aint got a solution if your foot slips! Looking at a medium tourer it seems the Tracer 900 GT has similar faults -suspension, seat and jerky power .Am I being a prat to even think about a repeat performance or not? bazza
  4. fOR ANY "NEWBIES" TO CONTINENTAL TRAVEL .ITS DEAD EASY -as long as you know the word "hotel" ,pension or whatever word that applies in the country you are going to you will be fine.Cost is usually far less on the continent and bikers are not looked down on. In France there are loads of cheap chain overnight stops -the cheapest being the F1 group always located near a peage junction -so easily found.A better one is the B&B group who offer a breakfast but if you want an evening meal the Campagnile is better- you get a nicer class of place. I have been as far as Turkey -all around the BALTIC and frequently to Morocco. Spain is always a joy to stay in and the furtyher you go away from the tourist places the better. Spanish roads seemed to have benefitted last / best from EU largess and unlike our potholed tracks you will love it. Be sure to avoid the motoways -they are oblidged to offer an A class road to the same destination -and the WORST rip off I had was a few miles around Barcelona on the city ring road motorway -cost a fortune! at 70 now I may take it slower and "smell the flowers more" but its all in your mind! 6 weeks after a new hip I road to Portugal. best place to go-the world is your oyster or was was it lobster? only change post pandemic -get a UK not a GB sticker and check your insurance and license for where you are going. bazza
