    YBR125 issues

again thanks for all the replies. the bike starts first time and i can drive off straight away (however saying that, sometimes i wont start with the electric starter at all. unless i put it in neutral.). i just tend to start the bike, put on my gear and then drive away so generally no more than 2 mins at most. (just curious if i have had the choke on all this time will it have done serious damage) iv had the bike for 12 months now. im going to check the chain, air filter, engine oil and spark plug tomorrow day, (i know the chain is at least slightly loose)

    YBR125 issues

hey, thanks for the replies, not sure if iv left the choke on, no idea where the choke is, will have a look. not sure exactly how to describe it, it just sounds like the engine is struggling and it gets worse the faster i go, after 30mph it starts to feel like it needs to change gear again even though im in fifth gear (hits 6000revs) but after 20 mins riding it seems to go better, i generally warm the bike up for a couple of mins before starting. sorry i cant be more descriptive its just hard to describe

    YBR125 issues

Hi, i need some help, i have a 2008 Yamaha YBR and it just does not sound right, iv just moved to London and see a lot of YBR's now and they don't sound like mine, it just sounds like its struggling, more like a pit bike than a ybr. also it sounds like it struggles once it goes over 30mph, although if iv been riding a while that seems to sort itself out. revs wise it seems ok, any suggestions as i dot know the first thing about engines?
  5. hey, just a quick question iv just had my YBR 125 MOT'd the problems were no break pads- just happened break lights not working front light not aligned properly also steering was stiff so i took it into the garage, the mechanic took 1 look at it and said the head stock bearings had gone and it would be an all day job. is this right? the total bill is about £220

    no lube on chain

thanks for the reply, though as much could happen, not really fussed about saying something, just don't want to come across as rude. normally wouldn't bother saying anything about the state of someone else's property but thought this might be dangerous. especially if it broke going 60/70mph down the road!!!

    no lube on chain

hey guys, just a quick question, i was outside college the other day and with all the usual bikes there was a yzf125, this is one of my fave 125's so i naturally had a bit of a nosy at it. the first thing that caught my eye was the gold chain, on closer inspection the chain was not gold but dry as a bone and covered in rust.... i always carry a can of lube on me but didn't see the owner or really know how to broach the subject, or know if it would do more harm than good on the chain (it was really really rusty, never seen anything like it) what can actually happen if the chain does not get any lube or oil on it. and should i broach the subject if i see him/her (probably him) cheers
  8. Hey Guys, might be going, just seeing if i can book time off work (being a chef sucks) but i get some money at the beginning of january for more gear. are there any events like this around that time????? Cheers
  9. Hey Guys thanks for the replies. i have armour in my jacket. and in my trousers aswell. the bag has a hard plastic sheet at the back and 2 metal poles in it too. not sure if its CE rated. £250 is really out of my budget i was thinking max £80 (im a student) i will have a look at the back protectors. but i saw some body armour on ebay for £35 but thought that was a bit cheap....... thanks again for the replies
  10. Hey Guys, just a quick question really, i commute wo work and use my bike as a run around. im doing this most of the winter too. i keep reading stuff about back armour but cant find much about full armour kits. was wondering what the best one on a budget would be. when im commuting my bag has a back plate in it. would this offer good protection. i only ask because there are a lot of idiot drivers about and iv nearly been hit 4 times now. and i like walking (call me mental)
