  1. Just an update. The MTC road legal exhaust has come, been installed and now the bike has been sold. It sounded lovely compared to the standard can and the quality was faultless. Would recommend. Now I have an FZS1000 and possibly looking at another MTC unless anyone else has any other recommendations? I've heard good things about, Delkevic but does anyone have any first hand experience? I guess as it being a de-tuned R1 engine would it sound similar??? Any advice as always would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I wanted some boots that I could wear through the winter on and off the bike, and so after knowing about Alt-Berg was delighted to find out they do a motorbike range. From ordering them to delivery it took 5-6 weeks for them to customer make them, but wow they were worth the wait. They seem to be the same design as their military boots with the laces starting higher up the foot, and some extra padding. They're starting to break in, and so far are incredibly comfortable, warm, waterproof and grippy. Well worth the money.
  3. Stumbled upon these on Ebay, after looking for a cheap summer jacket. Can't find any reviews on them apart from on Ebay where people are only commenting on the delivery. Has anyone purchased from these? or heard anything about them? Thanks. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ANC-Traders-Limited
  4. If you had trouble getting the bike into gear on your test, then you didn't have control of the bike which is a clear fail. Were you putting the bike in neutral when you were stopped?
  5. GP not road legal though? Can imagine it sounds like a dragon. No its not road legal, unless mr plod does a roadside sound test your ok. My argument is it has a legal baffle (Which i'd consider buying it you were to get one) If you do decide you want a MTC ring them up, they knocked off £30 off the ebay price for me Whoops, too late! Ordered the road legal one. Should still sound tastier than the standard exhaust.

  7. Ah brilliant, not too bothered about BHP increase, mainly looks and sound. Still not sure whether to go Carbon or stay stainless. The Carbon ones only have 2 year warranty where the stainless has lifetime. hmmmm, choices.
  8. They don't do one for an FZS! Lame. Look nice though.
  9. I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust for a few reasons, mainly the look. I have a black Fazer and think a black exhaust can would look pretty decent, and also would like a little more noise. Not to be a hooligan but I'd like to be able to hear the bike and for other rod users to be able to hear me. Value wise I've seen the Beowulf exhausts, does anybody have any experience with these? Or could somebody recommend any other company? Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I was told that before my Mod2, luckily Oxford lunchtime traffic was nice and flowy. I've yet to actually filter though, never had the need! (yet)
  11. Thanks for all the comments guys! Much appreciated, let the bike shopping commence! (in a weeks time)
  12. Proper chuffed, passed both first time. Nearly failed Mod2 as I crept onto a box junction in slow traffic and the car infront stopped, managed to keep my balance and just creep over the junction at 1-2mph. So ended as a minor fault for following traffic to close! Now all I need to do is sell the CG125, get paid next friday and my mates lending me £1k! Time to go Hornet shopping!!
  13. Congratulations! Mine is booked for Monday, have a full day training on Sunday. Although I've picked up a stress fracture on my foot so I may have to cancel because speed bumps and dips in the road can hurt after a few miles. Was it easier than you thought it would be?
  14. I passed about 2 months ago, clocked well over 1000 miles so far. I've not had lessons which is a bit silly. DAS1/MOD1 booked for next week so we'll see how that goes. MOD2 isn't until later in the month so if the instructor reckons I need a bit more time then I'll delay it by a few months.
  15. The tyre is 30% down on pressure, so yes it would have made a major difference and most likely the main cause of you crashing.. You should really check your tyres at least once a week, or before you go for a long ride out. Righto, will make sure they're checked regularly. My confidence is still feeling a bit beaten. Feeling pretty nervous on corners even on a warm dry day like today. Hopefully time will cure it. EDIT: How has your confidence been since your accident in November. And you say you found riding a bigger bike easier? could you elaborate? Thanks again.
