  1. It depends. If the bike/car is roadworthy you can use the remains of your old MOT certificate. https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/after-the-test
  2. And this will be my last post on that as well: No (seriously?) are the Welsh cops incapable of catching a dog? 2 options: No: the question remains why they have not caught it than? Yes: if they can't catch a dog they are not fit for purpose. How exactly you expect them to catch a criminal which granted must be clever than a dog. It is not about how fast you are if you are chasing your own tail.
  3. Done The Old Sun as well: http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1475/25179535741_7bb544db57_k.jpg
  4. I think you'll find, should you read the article fully, that the hound in question was in fact scampering about with an armalite. Why would you illegally block an entire road while you fannied about finding tiddles' owner? That does sound like a very silly thing to do. Just to be clear I have blocked the road to recover the cat that was hit on the road. As soon as the cat was safe inside my car I've parked off road and than found the owners. If I can block safely busy London road how hard is for police with sirens etc. to block a road?
  5. There. Done. Shows over, all go home. Agree to disagree here. What risk to human life?? Does the dog was running with AK47 assault rifle? Are we talking here for The Hound of the Baskervilles?? I mean somebody scratch his bumper and they close M25 for 3 hours for gawd sake. And this is London here with 10 million cars per hour. But no the Whales muppet keystone cops can't close a road and catch a dog with bare hands. Seriously Few months ago I a guy has hit a cat in front of me. I am not a cop, but have closed the road with my 4x4 and the emergency lights. Got the cat luckily no damage only stressed out. Found the owners in nearby house. My wife was like: why you have blocked the whole road? Because there are morons that is way. If I alone and not a cop can do that why the muppets can't? BTW I do not hate cops in general. I have many friends cops. I hate stupid people though. If anybody is remotely interested what the law say about it: 1. The stupid owner must be prosecuted for endangering public safety. Yes by UK law the owner is fully responsible for any damages caused by his/her pet. 2. The particular cops must be prosecuted for criminal damage. Yes by UK law they have damaged somebody else property.
  6. It is all good to discuss the future consequnces of In or Out, but you need to understand there are things that already happens, because of the referendum too. The fresh example is the pound going down after Boris Out statement. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/201 ... hnson-spa/ How much has costed the UK taxpayer (that is me BTW) the Boris stunt to win the hardcore tory electorate in his desperate bid to become the UK's Alexis Tsipras. Means I can exchange less euros on my summer holiday this year in France, because Boris decided to go all Trump BTW there is a reason why the UK is one of the best European economies. Because it is open and liberal work market. Migrants provide the workforce easiliy for the business. The option to "work with what you've got" kind of thing is not good for the business at all.
  7. not one but Four Horseshoes: http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1615/24621043584_df14b14e1c_k.jpg
  8. That song sums up the whole debate nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBi-KXc0CRk I think I've changed my mind "Leave" is the way to go
  9. You do know that the house prices in London are up not because of poor east europeans, but mostly because of rich russians and chinese do you? And that has nothing to do with EU or freedom of movement... I mean no offence, but that is hilarious and I really can't stop laughing now That reminds me Farage blaming immigration for traffic on M4 mate
  10. How exactly EU governance differ from the UK one? All MEPs are elected the same way MPs are. All the other positions are also either elected or chosen by all EU governments including the UK one. UK currently has all the powers to be part of creating any new EU laws. If the UK leaves it will be like Norway. By the way in order to be in the single market Norway still complies with most of the EU laws and regulations. So you are telling me that in order to be free we need to give us our right to influence the laws that are created in the EU, but we'll still follow them 100% Anyhow for the sake of the argument can you just show me single EU law that you think is bad for you personally? That has affected you hence you'll vote out to remove it. Because I have a long list of laws that are good for me. Starting with better consumer rights protection, better job protection, better education and ending with better nature protection and less pollution. About the effect on the UK economy from leaving - I'm gonna need 100 pages post so do not get me started. The whole notion that somehow EU is bad for the UK is frankly completely mental and there is not a single fact that supports that. Just lies and media spin. My 2p.
  11. 12. The UK will leave Europe by 2025 and the edge of the Solar System by 2050. Common sense. ">
  13. Got any recommendations pal ? Tsubaki Alpha X Ring Gold Drive Chain - 525 - 112 Links from here: http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/buy/Tsuba ... 12.4A1#eq1 Plus set of sprockets. If you do mostly road not track you may even consider going 15 or even 14 teeth on the front sprocket too.
  14. Real men wear jeans tucked into the boots, like me And this is much safer too. Not that matter to real men Seriously though any jeans can tuck into any boots. There are plenty of kevlar jeans with good protection. Also there are Resurgence Pekev Voyager Jeans which are CE Level 2 certified. That should provide really good protection. Note the protection also depends on the hip and knee armor. I have John Doe Kamikaze because I like the name can you imagine the paramedics: "We have another Jonh Doe Kamikaze man..."
  15. Muffs work in winter. Heated grips does not help for the fingers or the top of your hand. There are no winter gloves that can help you with that. Beleive me I have tried many. The gloves are too cloose to your hand and what happens is wind chill colds out the top of your glove. The cold sooner or later gets to your hand and fingers. You need to stop the wind chill. You can do that with muffs or good handguards only. The only thing that is close to gloves and works for me for a limited period of time is a good leather mitten. Mitten have a lot of free space and there is an air gap between your fingers and the outer mitten layer. No gloves has that. Means mitten work for half an hour winter ride fine. I have these and use them for short winter rides: http://www.motolegends.com/gloves/halva ... black.html Anything more and you are in muffs territory.

  17. Register here http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 12&t=55353 by choosing a number, put the number on a piece of paper so it can be displayed on your bike when you are stopped. Ride your bike to the tags that are places of interest all over the UK. Photograph your bike with its number and the tag. Get 10 points for each tag completed and bonuses for completing regions. Enjoy riding new roads and seeing new parts of the country. I will try this, it sounds fun What exactly are the rules? I do see some pictures posted with a number and the challenge without a bike on the photo is that fine?
  18. My Fazer FZS600 at Marlow Bridge: http://farm1.staticflickr.com/710/21520187846_8bc605d9a9_h.jpg
  19. Hello, Yamaha Fazer FZS600 is currently my own bike and my benchmark against any new bike that I may buy. Probably I will keep the Fazer even after buying new bike just in case. 1. Weather protection - I am all year round commuter and fun biker. The Fazer is half faired, but the weather protection works fine. 2. Seat comfort - the Fazer has very comfortable big seat. 3. Power and throttle control. The Fazer is 95hp IL4. Good enough for me. The engine needs revving, but I actually like that. It is old fashioned carb no fuel injection and no traction control. Lack of fuel injection may be a good thing, some new ride by wire injection one bikes are known to have snatchy throttle. The Fazer throttle is accurate and precise, and you know what to expect from the carb all the time. I provide my own traction control. 4. Brakes – can’t stress how important are for me. Fazer brakes are without ABS, but are powerful and progressive. Again providing my own ABS. 5. Bike weight, chassis and steering – the bike is fairly light, the steering is accurate and sharp. 6. Suspension – it has room for improvement, but suits me fine after set up for my 16 stone. This is my benchmark. Any new bike that I will possibly consider must be better in all major six points above in order for me to consider it. Otherwise it may be a perfect bike for someone’s else requirements, but not for me. Note: The more automated rider help the better. I am not a luddite. Give me all your traction controls and cornering ABSes with dynamic suspensions. Providing you satisfy all the other requirements like sharp handling and brakes with good feedback. BMW S1000XR and R1200RS. Both very nice bikes. The XR is almost brilliant. Bear in mind my final rating is based on my personal preferences and riding style. Yours may be different. Here is the test route: https://goo.gl/maps/wjhba" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Unfortunately I do not had too much time for that so it was about 30 minutes ride fore each bike. Total of one hour fun. I have started the test ride with the XR. Standard seat suits me perfectly. I am 183cm (6 foot) high and weight 100kg (16 stone) - I know I should eat less burgers Anyhow on standard seat I can get both my foot firmly on the ground. Although the position feels very high compared to the Fazer. You seat on the bike and the seat keeps your bum supported firmly from behind. Think sofa. To me compared to the Fazer was like I am seating in a double decker bus. Not sure yet that is a good or a bad thing. So the whole sofa thing moves very well. It is unbelievably agile and flickable. Once you got used to the position you just want to swerve left and right. The steering is very light and the bike leans almost telepathically. The engine has distinct agricultural sound. Feels like you are on the top of very light and capable tractor. The gears are very smooth. Because the engine has good pull you can ride it basically in any gear. I have to say I have not used the 6th at all. Honestly 3rd is all you ever need to stay legal. XR moves with the speed of your thoughts without been intimidating you are always in control. I have used TC on, ABS on, Road settings for the engine and Dynamic settings for the suspension on both bikes. Both of them were full extra models with everything you will ever need. I have not used most of it. Only few times on the XR traction control light was obviously fixing my lack of skills ABS has not been engaged no kittens were killed during the test ride. I have to say it was very fun. I can do that every day for sure. XR pulls off in 5th from about traffic lights at 15mph without any clutch slip needed at all. When you pick up the revs the sounds gets little better from distinct agricultural to slightly howling agricultural. That is fine with me. The sound is not anywhere high in my bike features priorities list. Although I prefer Fazer screaming banshee standard exauts high revs sound. Probably you can get Akrapovic or Remus and tune it to your taste. Based on the handling and the high position with very good visibility we may have the perfect commuter bike here for the XR. The XR also wins in the engine department. It has the most power and it is the most relaxed and predictable power delivery in all revs. You know exactly what happens at all times. My conclusion is the XR is not a touring nor adventure bike at all. It likes to be revved. If you look for long touring smooth ride no vibes bike look elsewhere. The XR is a sport bike with perfect seat and bars (I like) and high road position (ermmm not sure about it). Now the RS. It was big disappointment to me. Initially I was expecting this is the bike I will like most. Do not get me wrong it is great bike. But does not make much sense to my riding style. First the position. Think about proper sport bike. You feel tucked into the RS and you need to hug it. Not funny. Does not make sense to me because if you have that position with this engine its not very comfy. It has enormous by my standards low toque pull. In fact I may have pulled low wheelie after going out of a roundabout to the A404 dual carriageway. I was in 2nd gear and Land rover Sport was closing behind me too close for my liking on the roundabout. I have pulled the throttle probably too ambitiously and surprise small wheelie/slapper/change of pants :lol It got ok I have moved to 3rd and the carriageway was disappearing fast behind. The bike is fun. But not as predictable and forgiving like XR. Engine wise for my riding style the worst is the RS. Sure plenty of power. Too much torque when I do not need it. On the dual carriageway when doing speed RS feels more planted with better aerodynamics. In the twisties RS feels heavy to me. XR is way much better. Even the old Fazer steering is better. The RS slow and high speed control is fenomenal. But the bend steering was weird. It hesitates to lean a little and than suddenly goes down, probably too low CoG. IMO it may over steers a little in medium speed twisties. The XR is way better steering. Funny enough I have collected the most admiration when riding via Marlow on the RS. Not sure why and not sure I like that. Probably the low rumbling sound of it. Basically the RS is a show off bike. More fashion statement than sense IMO. Second test ride day. I have done one more test ride this time on BMW S1000RR and S1000XR, this time going for 4 hours ride. This time I have used the quickshifter lot more. I like it. But is something that is nice to have. I do not mind manual changes even blipping the throttle myself actually gives me nice warm feeling fo good gear change. All in all cannot stress how good is S1000XR. About the RR: long story short the RR seat and riding position is completely unbearable for me. I am just too fat, too tall and I do not have rubber neck. The RR wrists and feet position feels better for me than RS though. The engine is just brilliant. The handling is superb. Just not for me because of my neck mostly. Final rating: 1. Handling steering - XR, RR, Fazer, RS 2. Engine and power delivery - XR, RR, Fazer, RS - note obviously the RS has more power than the Fazer I just do not like the engine for my riding. 3. Seat and position - Fazer, XR, RS, RR. 4. Look - draw for all for the front side look, sidewise look - XR, RS, RR, Fazer - no surprise here good old Fazer looks ugly sidewise 5. Sound - RR, Fazer, RS, XR - note I am not a fan of low rumbling Harley style sound. For you it may be the RS. My conclusion so far is - I would have the XR, but not convinced that I can let the Fazer go yet. Next on my list for test rides is GSX-S1000F and MT10. Despite having 3 cameras I do not have any videos of the ride. You know why. Ta Da
  20. Just book your DAS or A2 training (depending how old are you) and get the license. Riding big bike is completely different experience. Hence trying to master your riding skills on 125 is a complete waste of time. You will get your confidence back much easier on a big bike, which will have much better handling than 125.

  22. Good luck with the new bike If you look for fun touring bike get Fazer 1000 or FZ1
  23. I have few cameras. Long story short: you should know SJ cameras are cheap clones for GoPro. There are cameras that are cheap copies of SJ. I have cheap SJ4000 clone and it does everything that all other more expensive cameras will do: "> I also have Drift Stealth 2. This is very good small helmet camera. The quality of the video is better than SJ4000. The only problem is the wind sound over 30mph is awfull, because it has internal mic only. If you want to record yourself during ride look for cameras that support plugging external mic. Here is Drift sample video: "> From wind point of view SJ4000 is better because it has a case and it stops the most annoying wind sounds. Note SJ4000 does not have a port for external mic. Again if you want to record yourself talking during ride go for something that has external mic port. Like Drift Ghost HD. I also have Furefly 6S, which is 4k video resolution. Again long story short, for general recording, and for camera mounted on the bars safe your money and buy cheap SJ4000 clone form ebay for £16: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Action-Sport- ... Sw4UtWSvF7
