DutchMick Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 After todays results its shaping up to be a fantastic last race day. Only 3 weeks to go!Who do you think is going to win it?Haga? Be nice to see him win the thing eventually.Spies? The blokes got so much talent (and very wide elbows). Quote
techno Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I think Haga will now win, bens pies might take a win but think the 10 points maybe too much without accidents! Quote
DutchMick Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 If Spies wins both races and Haga finishes 2nd in both, they'll have the same points but Haga will be champion as he's won more races this season. I can still imagine Haga throwing it down the road though. Quote
awwwnuts Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Spies has won more races 13 to Haga 8. To close to call really could go either way. You also have to take in the likes of Rea and Biaggi upseting the apple cart. Going to be brilliant though. more than you can say for GP. Once again was like watching paint dry. They really need to sort it out Quote
techno Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Yep the yam could break down as well! The gp was a little spaced out but the speeds lorenzo was doing was mind blowing...he can so easily become world champ this year!looking forward to seeing what Rossis excuse was!! Quote
awwwnuts Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Rossi claims he was suffering with lack of grip. Think the problem is that great effin wall down the middle of the garage, and a young rider and crew who are hungry for wins. Rossi should still take the championship. The tracks remaining are all ones he loves and does well at, but you have to wonder what the future holds. Quote
Susieque Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 The tracks remaining are all ones he loves and does well at, but you have to wonder what the future holds. According to the TV commentators, Rossi doesn't like Valencia so he needs to nail Malaysia and Phillip Island!! Quote

Well I predict Rossi will eventually retire and Lorenzo wil take over where Rossi left off!But Lorenzo will (if not this year) win the championship next year! Quote
awwwnuts Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I hope Rossi does retire soon, always think its a bit sad when a champion carries on chasing another championship with young dogs snapping at their heels. I agree if Lorenzo doesn't do it this time, he's gotta be a strong contender next year along with Stoner. Loved the bit on the Stoner interview where a rumour was that Livio Suppo the crew chief had made a pass at Stoners mrs and that was why Stoner was not racing. Couldn't blame him though...who wouldn't Quote
Netmeister Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I hope Rossi does retire soon, always think its a bit sad when a champion carries on chasing another championship with young dogs snapping at their heels. What's sad is when they slowly start to slip away. He needs to quit while he's ahead. Although all this business of him going to Ducati is veerrry interesting.I think I'd rather see Haga take the championship now that Spies has secured his MotoGP seat because you know Spies is going to go on to win titles, even if it's not in MotoGP and ends up coming back to WSBK.Although Spies is in my fantasy team so......GO SPIES!! techno Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Still think Rossi will decide to retire after surpassing ago's record If he thinks its a feasible target in the next couple of years..and he's enjoying the racing! He's always been one to enjoy the battles..theres nothing sad about his achievements this year in fact this could be regarded as his best championship cos he has a real challenger on the same bike for the first time in his moto gp career.Oh and he wont go near a ducati, he's already stated he wants to be remembered as a yamaha rider. One question is how will yamaha go on after he retires and stops developing the bike..wil Lorenzo be able to continue that? Quote
Netmeister Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Oh and he wont go near a ducati, he's already stated he wants to be remembered as a yamaha rider. Yeah I reckon he just said that because I was a little pee'd off with Yamaha about Lorenzo getting all the changes he makes.I think his retirement will be either Burges' retirement, or Ago's record.
