Guest Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I just brought a DNA Gilera and I am having problems with it, (luckily I got it from a dealer who is coming tonight) but you guys might know incase he tries to lie and blame me for breaking it as he sounded quite rude on the phone (plus am a woman and thought he was taking advantage in the sale!) I havent even been able to ride it yet, he delivered it and started it up and then switched it off and left, but when I come to turn it on mins later this is what happened:I put the keys in press in the brake and start button, the starter motor noise is very healthily but for some reason its just not 'catching' and starting the bike, it just makes a turn noise, its got worse this morning and makes a turn noise followed by a wierd noise almost like a fan belt in a car when it stalls, we have charged the battery last night as we dont think the dealers charged it (he mentioned that he charged it before he came, but didnt state how long) but it looks like its drained when we tried again this morning.Am gutted, I really want to be able to have my bike fixed Been looking on internet but no one else has a prob like this! Guest Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hiya,Well the man came round last night and tried to blame us for flooding the engine, he was all angry and he was unscrewing th eplug caps, he then changed his tune when he pulled out a very black sooty and broken spark plug, his excuse was that they forgot to change it in the service. He changed it and gave us a spare and it starts first time every time, had a few goes on it and it works like a dream! Thanks for all your help! Guest Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I have heard thta they do have a running history of starting problems from ppl at work, does anyone know if this is true? I few years ago I had a Gillera Runner (53 plate) and I believe they use the same engine (pretty quick for a 125). If I kept it in the shed it started perfectly whether wet, cold or wet and cold. If I left it out overnight it could be more problematic and normally took 3 or 4 efforts. Quote
