Guest Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 So ive just bought a Derbi Senda X-treme R 50.and i had it over one night, and then when i tied to start it in the morn, the kick start broke.the guy took it straight back and fixed it, to my understanding the clip that holds the spring in place that moves the kick start gear back into place after starting had broken. so the kick start wasn't disengaging properly.this isn't the problem tho. After the garage having the bike for a few days i got it back and all seemed well and that problem was fixed. but this is where the problem started. The bike kick starts, revs up, then dies (theres no electric start btw), if i keep opening and closing the throttle i can sometimes keep it going on really low revs just long enough to eventually get it going. when this fails and it dies, i cant get it to kick start again. not matter how long i go at it. but when i bump start it, it usual goes after a few attempts. Ive tried the choke both on and off, makes no difference, I've tired adjusting the idle speed, thats all sound, checked the spark plug, thats all sound.its frustrating because once its going, the bike is great and it runs really well. but I'm getting annoyed with having to bump it after work everyday. (ps once i have the bike running and have ridden it for a while it will kick start again for an hour or so after turning it off)any help would be great cz im going a little nuts here Cheeeeers! Quote
Guest Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 its flooding, use the choke and less throttle... Quote
Guest Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 ok cool il give it a go 2day. hoping its as simple as that cheers Quote
Guest Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 you still need to get the kickstart fixed though.. Quote
Chrissb6 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Hi ya, 2 strokes can be a bit of a pain staring from cold, normally an on - off switch or plunger only for the choke control. If the motor is cold, use the choke and kick start the bike with no throttle control, let the motor warm up, after a moment or two, let the choke off and warm the motor up blipping up the throttle a couple of times to clear the engine - exhaust. A warm engine requires only part throttle opening to start it.Hope this helps Quote
Guest Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 hey thanks for the tips, but it definitely wont start on the kick if i use no throttle, then if it hasnt started that first time then i have to bump start it.im just going to give up and take it into the garage.cheers for the help tho guys! Colin the Bear Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Perhaps an exercise machine to build up those kicking muscles. Quote
Daniel_odgers Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hi I have exactly the same problem with my derbi. Did you find out what is wrong with it. Quote
Smithers Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hi I have exactly the same problem with my derbi. Did you find out what is wrong with it. Considering the post is 10 years old, the bike has probably dissolved into rust and gone back to nature. Quote
