Now that I've got your attention, sorry to disappoint you, but its just the name of the pub in Godshill Wow and Ian were talking about meeting at next Saturday (15th).

I'll leave the arranging up to Wow as she did a great job last time.

I've checked and there is only ONE Fighting Cocks pub in Godshill, so there'll be no mistakes this time. I blame Tom  . In fact, its the ONLY pub in Godshill lol!

I can't find a website for the pub, but this is its Multimap location:

http://www.multimap.com/maps/?&hloc=GB|SP62LL#t=l&map=50.92314,-1.75855|14|4&loc=GB:50.93433:-1.74945:16|SP62LL|SP6%202LL

I think if you're not sure of your way thru the New Forest, its best to take the A31 to Ringwood and then the A338 Salisbury to Fordingbridge, then the B3078.

Cheers for now...

:x

Its seems to work if you copy and paste it (minus the url bits) into the address line.

I've been there a couple fo times by car. In the summer there's likely to be as many horses tied up outside as bikes lol.

Yeah works now.

Sounds good. Why are the nicest pubs the furthest away?

hi JAR yeah we think we'll be arriving at midday. As I'm only passing messages on I hope we're talking about the same pub (in Godshill) but according to Gweev that is correct. Look forward to seeing you there. Anyone else joining you? There will be about 6-8 of us.

Hi all, I went riding in the New Forest yesterday with 7 friends from the Brighton-ish area. It was a great ride there over A-roads. Spent some time in the Forest (where are the trees??) and first stop was the fighting cocks pub in Godshill..................where...............Mel64 and Amanda turned up at the same time! It was good to see you again. WEnt to Lyndhurst after we'd left the pub, then on to Bucklers Hard, that was just fantastic. We were held up by ponies and cows, just great, a big fat cow was in no rush and was scratching herself for quite a while funny that was. Then we zoomed back along the M27/A27 it was busy and I was challenging my Sportster I think. We managed to stay together all 8 of us, great. As this was our second meet up with people from the Motorbike Forum we're looking forward to the next one, like Amanda said , might do it again before the weather turns.

A pub at Zeals off the A303 near Wincanton--Hunters Lodge--very popular with motorcyclists on a Thursday night--usually a large turnout for a pub--200 bikes

Neither Zeals nor Wincanton means anything to me. The A303 does will look it up on the map. Is it a good pub for a sat or sun meet?

Wow----any pub with decent beer and one you can walk away from in one piece is a good pub
