Guest Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Hi,wondering if anybody could help me,i have a yamaha tzr 50 and when i speed up on a long straight the bike seems to die down, like its going to cut out. If i mess aorund with the gears it will carry on going. Any Ideas what could be going on ? thankyou, oli Quote
Guest Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 lolHave you checked all the obvious? Spark plugs, leads, airfilter etc? Quote
Guest Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Your not redlining it are you ? Maybe it auto cuts off.. hence needing to change gears Quote
Guest Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 is it getting to a certain set of revs then dying? if so you are past its limit and into what is known as retardation, basically past the usable power of the engine, best to change up before you get there.. Quote
Guest Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I am not red lining it, and it dies in all different places, sometimes it will do it others it wont :s Quote
Colin the Bear Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Sounds like it could be fuel starvation, lack of fuel. Could be fuel tank breather or dirty fuel filter. Quote

Could be fuel tank breather or dirty fuel filter. has the bike been modifed.. can the fuel pump keep up with the new demands.. and check/renew air filter, could be restricting airflow.. Quote
