Spark Plug socket - ?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm not sure if i'm being a bit dim here but....

I'm narrowing down an intermittent ignition / running fault and want to replace one of the coils, however, the coils i've looked at, don't seem to have the spark plug sockets attached.

Am i seeing that correctly? if so, i have no probs fitting it, but where do i get a new plug socket from?

Thanks

if you are looking at the coils there will be a thick black wire (more depending on engine..) with plug caps on the end,

if you cannot see any of these, then look for the plug and work back..

a picture might help me tell you what you are looking at...

and whats the bike?

if you didn't have a cap the problem wouldn't be intermittent but terminal, no spark...

lol, sorry didn't explain myself very well !

The coils i've looked at on the internet to buy don't seem to have the plug caps fitted.

The ones on the bike are fitted...that would be one hell of a fault lol!

It's a CM125C by the way, but contrary to every thing i've read, it has two coils fitted that look the same as the ones on a CB125T

The CM125 and CB125 share the same engine so some parts will be the same, but the gearing and styling will be different, as they are for different markets, custom and commuter.

you can get plug caps /sockets from any motor accessory shop.. check inside as some are larger than others, they just screw on, (wind them onto the HT lead) just get the right type, straight/ 90' / 45'

Well i never knew that! This motorcycling lark has opened my eyes already.

Thanks for the response.
