Guest Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Hallo:) heres the thing; my brother is selling me his 50cc scooter which he no longer wants. ill be old enough to ride it in august, when im 16. the insurance runs out in january 2010, and the tax in june.i have been told that i can tax and insure the scooter whenever, but for the m.o.t, as long as i have the tax and insurance, i will be allowed to ride the scooter to the mot centre, with a receipt to prove im going to have the mot if i get stoped my the old bill. is this correct? Mightycaz Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 If you're on the way to the centre and have something to prove it then normaly you should be ok, however all cops have their off days so make sure if you are stopped you are nice to Mr Plod. Quote
Guest Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 You have to produce a valid MOT to get a vehicle taxed. As it is already taxed that won't be a problem - but make sure YOU are legally allowed to ride it and the insurance covers YOU or your motorcycling career will be very short-lived, Quote
