I have just got my scooter, MOT'd and i insured online today, I only need to tax it now, But they say you need your insurance policy + your mot cert (MOT cert iv got)

Now swinton emailed me my "Policy Documents" Or a cover of if i print this out can i use that at the post office?

Or if i order my bike Tax Online, and get it paid for, can i ride my bike legal?

Cheers

Yep - tax your bike online, they automatically pick up wether it is insured/mot'd. Although sometimes it takes a day or 2 for the system to pick it up if you have just insured it.

The tax disc will come through the post in a few days - but until it arrives you are FINE to ride the bike. I printed off the confirmation email just to be sure :)

If you do it online, you dont need to email certs or anything, they just have the details in their database already.

I am led to believe that u can ride the bike up to 5 days after the old tax has ran out, im not sure if u can ride as long as you've actually paid. If it was me, i'd just go for it. The only way of them finding it out is reading your tax disk (which is impossible if you're moving) or haveing your reg plate scanned (but even then, it'll show up as taxed cos you'll have paid).

Don't leave your scooter out in the open when not using it, cos then they can see the old disk and leave you a fine, even if you have paid.

EDIT: +1 to blakeatron, print off the confirmation email :D
