mojobanana Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Hi, thought a meet in the new year was in order so here it goes. Meet at Jack's Hill between 11am and 12noon for sausage/bacon sangers and a big ole mug of tea/coffee. Linky hereJack's Hill is on the A5 just north of Towcester and the A43. I'm going to check they're actually open on they day and will amend the post if they're not. Thought New Year's Day would be a bit cruel So, who's up for it? tinkerbell Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Sorry can't make this one as it's Tom's 5th birthday and I don't think he would be very happy if I went out on the bike. Quote

houltmac Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Everyone still on for this? It's meant to be around freezing tomorrow but I'm up for it if you are (it's a couple of hours for me each way). Quote
mojobanana Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 I'm still going, I'm meeting Suzilew and yorbandit at Wellingborough at 10am ish then riding over from there. Dan mentioned snow his way earlier but he's a bit further North. Houltmac, if you're in any doubt about the weather then don't risk it. Bound to be black ice around and I don't want anyone rubber side up. My number's in the contacts section (or PM me and I'll ping it back to you) if you want to wait till morning and let me know. I'll try to log on before I leave home at 9.30am. Haven't had chance to check if the cafe's open, but their website mentions nothing about being closed. Plus Towcester's down the road and there are cafes there. Quote
Guest Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Well, there is bloody snow on the ground here So thats me out I'll never get out my street! Quote
yorbandit Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 We rode we froze and we ate a stonking brekkie nice to meet you houltmac hope ya ride home was a good un Quote
mojobanana Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 Yes, I'm back home too. Great brekkie although it was rather worrying when it started to snow as we navigated the A43/A5 roundabout. Hope Matt (houltmac) had a good ride home, all the way to Cheltenham (rather than Colchester where Roy was trying to send him!). Was a bit cold though. Whose idea was this meet? Madness.... Quote
houltmac Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Thanks guys. The ride home was good fun actually. I listened to some great shows, stayed really warm (don't know why but my hands were actually warm!) and met some good people at the services. Sadly, I did end up ranting at some moron who tried to cut me up so much that I missed the M42 junction but it just made the fun last longer. There was also a big tail-back at one point (on the M5 I think, don't remember) which I skipped through nicely much to all the cagers disgust.I was too cold to take pics when I arrived, but I did take this one of breakfast. Looks good eh?http://files.droplr.com/files/4166501/8Yffm.IMG_0017.jpg Quote
