Hywel Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 My bike ('98 CB600F) seems to be idling a bit slow.. I've read that it should sit on about 1300rpm but it's ticking over at 7 or 800 making it feel lumpy and lazy like it's about to give up. Does anyone know where the pilot screw is on this model? I'm assuming it's somewhere between the carbs but if so, how can I get to it without removing the fuel tank? Any replies would be appreciated! Quote
Colin the Bear Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 It's the throttle stop screw or the idle set screw. Look what moves when you twist the throttle and you should see it. http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Quote
Guest Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 on the cb it should be easily accessible with little fingers with out removing the tank.. you need fuel to adjust the idle.. found pics, its a yellow star in between number 2 and 3 carb, go in from behind the engine, quite obvious on this picture. what you can see is the butterflys, these face the engine, the other side is the airbox... Hywel Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 Thanks fellas, job done. Wasn't really close enough to do with the fingers but a slim spanner did the trick, tickover is sounding a lot more comfy now. Quote
