Mightycaz Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Heya, I booked my test for the week after next so I am starting the search for my first real steed, I've pretty much got my heart set on a GSX650F. There are some very good deals goin on at the moment with Suzuki on 0% finance over 3 years, so it is affordable and gets some pretty good reveiws as being "just a bandit with a pretty coat" which is fine with me as I like faired bikes and as everyone says, You can't go wrong with a bandit for a first bike! Now the real dilema is that there is a new model out which is exactly the same exept it has a new two tone paint job. Should I wait a month and get the new one or go with the old one?? or the new one Quote
blakeatron Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I believe Jade Mongoose (matt) has just got the 'old' colour scheme and looks great in his pics, personally not sure on that new scheme Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I prefer the old one by far, but everyone has that one... Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 i voted oldbut looking at it, new does look quite good too Quote
Foz Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 everyones got the old one they're everywhere! dont folow the sheep dude! Quote
techno Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Go with what you prefer but the new one looks like a tarts handbag! Oh and you can definatly go wrong with a bandit as a first bike! Quote
Pete Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Well I spose you could crash it...that's pretty wrong! Quote
techno Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 How so Techno? how so what?bandit???...really Quote
Guest Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Yeah lol, from what i've heard they're the best all-round first bike! Comfy position for almost everyone, tall or short, enough power to have a good laugh with, and cheap! Quote
techno Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Thing is that maybe so, but the riding position sucked for me, my prob is people just always suggest bandit for a first bike, some look no further and for little or no money extra you can get something way better, i just find there real boring, and dont forget there cheap for a reason!!Eg Old fzs6 is a far better bike!Just have a little bit more imagination thasn just thinking bandit, but hey if thats what you want then no probs from me! Guest Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Suppose thats true I have my eyes on one of these babies;http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n305/CobbZ_2006/Kawasaki_ER_6N_2009_31_1024x768.jpg Quote
Mightycaz Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Thats why I am lookin at these, because I dont just want to get a bandit. From everything I've read they have a bandit frame and feel with the exitment of a GSXR (just without all off the extra stupidly fast bits) Quote
Hoody Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Looks like the old GSX600F from c.1989Test rode one of these way back then in those colours - First 600 I ever rode!http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/Hoody_photo/gsx600f1988.jpghttp://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/Hoody_photo/2010-suzuki-gsx-650f.jpg Quote
Guest Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 prefer the old coulrs myself especially when you see the other choice ?? the 1250 isn't much better... remember the old GSXF too... Quote
Hoody Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I gotta say I love both the colours for the 1250! Quote
Mightycaz Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Why do they spoil a nice black bike with a fecking pink stripe? If there was one in all black it's be a null question because I'd get that, Gonna go to a few dealers and see if anyone has any of the new ones in yet or know when they will have. I've seen the old one (sat on it a few times too!) so I know I like that one but can't decide on the new one till i've seen it in the flesh so to speak. Quote
trixta Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 hi, i voted old co's in i think it looks more sporty, but thats jus my personal opinion as i prefer sporty lookin bikes. i think the new one looks more like a tourer. when i got my first bike in oct 2009 when i asked advice the majority of em said "oh, get a bandit or a hornet for your first bike, so i ignored em all and got a gsxr600 & i must say so far i love it, but like a few others have said its your choice. just enjoy it whichever you get regards trixta Quote

Hi i have just seen and ordered the white one with the Magenta Stripes its not PINK, you have to see it live rather in pictures as it doesnt do it any favours! Quote
2fast2soon Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 No, it is pink. I think I'd go with the old style as the new one reminds me too much of the girlie styling of the Gladius. Quote

I'm not going to get all defensive but when you look at the pictures it looks PINK, but be reassured its MAGENTA unless you colour blind, when you see it in the showroom you will appreciate what I'm saying:D Quote
