ticking on my zx-6r....views pls

hi all.

have a zx-6r(c6f)06,and get a ticking at lwish revs,up to 5,000,have looked on other forums about this and also taken it to a mecanic and they all say its a kawasaki thing,they all do it etc,so would be helpfull to know wot ppl on here think.

Does it go away when the engines warm? Have heard of similar noises and can be cam shaft end float, if such nothing to worry about. Try a reputable dealer for advice.

I have an older 636 and I got told they do make some noises and it is a kawasaki thing but could just be sha*ged!


Take it to someone you trust!

sounds to me like ur headders are blowing -


take fairing off... start bike up... and put ur ear close there.. see if it apprears louder.


when they blow it makes a ticking noise.. kinda like an electrical circuit sparking noise..



possible fault could be one of your o-rings have worn away or u lost a bolt/nut

Immediately after carrying out this procedure, pick up telephone and dial 999 and ask for an Ambulance to take you to the nearest burns unit, where they will attempt to reconstruct your ear... :D

I agree with Gary, it is the only course of action.


Just look at what owning a Kawa has done to Techno!!!! :shock:

yeah that sound about right for a kawasaki it is ok as long as its a ticking and not a tapping. iv had 3 kawasaki and they all been the same and i never had a problem
