fazerboy Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 ive exactly the same model,so you got taste all i use is a givi 45 ltr top box and a tank bag with a sandwich box in it for my documents and wallet and phone and such,so i can take them with me when i walk about, and this has seen me round the coast of the uk/france/spain/scotland without any problems, its a case of learning what you need to take and what you dont need.this may im of to spain for 12 days with exactly the same set up.the arms and a top box for your model should set you back around £200 maximum brand new,but ebay should be able to get this down to around £140 if your lucky Quote
fazerboy Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 maybe not then http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-FAZER-600- ... 5ad71c60ad Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 depending on what you want them for :general day to day - Top boxoccasional use - panniers. Quote
learner Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 im thinking of getting some form of soft pannier for weekend trips just worried as hear can damage paint work Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 pop into B&Q and get some rug creep stuff, it stops the panniers rubbing, and damaging paintwork, or use carpet tape (tape with cotton thread inside it) TC did for the rally, and his bike was Ok.. Quote
Keithg24 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I used to use a top box and or tail pack with a tank bag.Long weekends and or camping , soft panniers with a towel underneath. Quote
Fozzie Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 £40 gets you these puppies...http://www.getgeared.co.uk/MOTO-DETAIL_ ... tegory=206I know people will say that the quality wont be good but I bought these and they worked brilliantly. You get plastic sleeves to insert inside though I had to cut mine down a bit to make them fit properly. Once they were all up and supported use the array of straps to get it on tight against the rear of the bike using the spare straps it comes with to tie around to hold them tight and inline with the bike. Here is my CBR600F with the panniers and rucksack strapped down using the pannier straps. (Amazing what you can make it do in addition aint it). Excuse the cat... Apparently they were also good as a bed.http://i47.tinypic.com/312gx35.jpg Quote
Fazer Pete Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Givi top box and panniers are ideal. Also have a tank bag, get plenty of stuff in for week/weekend trips Quote
