jamo Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 As some of you may have seen from my other threads. Ive just bought a Fazer 600, 2004.Riding it around, i noticed that when i pull the clutch in to change gear the revs occasionally keep going for a short time. The throttle physically goes back to where it should...sometimes i make sure it does, but the bike sounds like its revving over. Ive adjusted the knob underneath the throttle lever to make sure it snaps back when it should do, still, same problem. Is it possible that its sticking somewhere, but not in the switch. Or am i just not used to how the bike goes yet? Quote
Guest Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Try putting some oil down the cable, engine oil preferably, WD40 otherwise. Quote
Guest Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'd lubricate and adjust both your throttle and clutch cable. Quote

Stu Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 i would check you have a throttle return cable and that its adjusted right if its too tight it can cause sticking throttle where the throttle grip doesnt snap back too loose and your throttle may not close properly but any throttle should just snap shut if it is snapping shut then you have a problem elsewhere Quote
spunky1976 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 check the bar ends aren't fowling the grips i had this same problem on my thundercat. Quote
jamo Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 Thanks guys. What would you lubricate it with? WD40? Engine oil be fine? Quote
Stu Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 oil or grease not WD40!! WD40 will chase any grease or oil away and dry out in a matter of weeks!!! Quote
Guest Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 oil or grease not WD40!! WD40 will chase any grease or oil away and dry out in a matter of weeks!!! I use one of those little oiler thingys that clamp around the top of the cable then squirt Chain lube down the cable, you can also use white lithium grease in aerosol form in the same manner,I have also found the hypodermic needle supplied with printer ink refills is the perfect size for inserting into and squirting oil down cables, bit messy but it works, Quote
