MWillow Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 What does everyone wear underneath their leather jacket? When trying on leathers with a t-shirt on, I've found that a size 40 jacket in some brands is a little tight (with the thermal layer still in). When i tried it without the thermal layer it fitted a little better (with a bit of stretch it would be ok i think). When i tried a 42 it felt a little bit too big even with the thermal layer in....I won't be riding in cold weather, so i'm hoping i won't need too much on underneath providing leathers keep you warm during the warmer months!!!Am i doing the right thing by trying jackets on with only a t-shirt underneath? Guest Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Always get tight Get the 40 then Cos it will stretch a little as its worn anyway, and tight is always better. Also, when getting jacket/pants, have a sit on your bike with them on too. Quote
BBTBB Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I tend to just wear a t/polo shirt. Jacket comes in quite tight although I'd happily get a jumper under it. I would go for the 40. Quote
j4ff Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 If you use a back protector or ever intend to,youll need some space. For me normally just a thermal T shirt Quote
houltmac Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 This past weekends long rides I have had a thermal base shirt, a t-shirt and a back protector as well as keeping the thermal in the jacket. It was tight, but has definitely stretched since it was new.Today I just had a t-shirt coming home from work. It was still tight, but you could feel the difference. 40 sounds like a good bet to me.
