How do I found out my handlebar size?

My track bike (2000 Yamaha R6) has some really chunky clip on bars and I want to get some new ones - someone recommended these: http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/000 ... uf&sd=DESC but my problem is that I dont know which size I need to get, or if it even matters. The sizes range from 50mm to 54mm but I have no idea what that is even a measurement of...

Anyone got any idea how I can find out which size I need for my bike?

Hmm ok well PhilGale explained to me that I need to measure the diameter of the inside ring in the clip ons (ie the size of the forks) so I did that - it was 43mm but that is not an option for those Harris clip ons - they start at 50mm, and so do pretty much all of the other clip ons I can find

EDIT: Oh actually I found these ones which start at 41mm http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/000 ... st&sd=DESC

So I'm guessing I can just get those in the 43mm size right?
