I also have an Army issue Bergen, 130L in olive green. I only ever use it when I can't fit the load in my other two rucksacks another military 35L day sack or a quicksilver backpack.

I use a nice "Dakine" rucksack, cost me £35, holds plenty, is comfy, and a has that centre strap that keeps it on :)

Whats great, is its waterproof, and they offer a lifetime guaruntee/warranty - if anything on it breaks, zips, straps, any tears or anything, they give u a brand new one xD I love mine. Served me well for years, and boy have i shoved some crap in that!

I use my old school bag, has a broken zip and i think got a small hole in it  Has no straps to link together or anything

Lets say its held my wallet, phone etc and all have survived, well quite rapid speeds!

Doesn't hold alot though!

EDIT: also survived when i came off back in November too! :P

i never wear one.....whatever is in the rucksack is going to be tumbling down the road with you should you have an off!

I have an issue Bergan, but find that the frame pushes my lid up from the back, so its just taking up space on top of a fridge...

dont use one, topbox, panniers, tailpack and tankbag is enough for me

Flog it!! There's always a daft civi that'll pay silly money for ex-army gear, even if it's falling to bits!! The amount of shite I sold when I was in QM's was amazing!! :spank:

you might be able to use webbing then? aslong as what ever it is that your carrying is not very big.

you can get it in black too http://www.soldierstuff.co.uk/product_i ... tqurvzutad

That wont look silly at all.... Honest!!

PS. See what I mean WF? (see link) £85 for that shite!!
