Boots question

I have my old boots which the zip broke on. They're not covered under warranty anymore but were comfy as hell and cool during the summer. Would anyone have concerns about a shoe repairer fixing the zip so I could wear them again or do you think they'd be likely to fail in an accident?

It could be prohibitively expensive to have them repaired, but give it a go, or buy another pair the same and break them in, or - bear with me - get some black gaffer tape and tape them on for safety's sake?

Nah, wouldn't buy the same again, these were the second pair. The first failed on the zip too! I've got another pair of goretex ones anyway but found they got quite hot after wearing them for a while. The older ones were nice and cool!

cant go wrong with a bit of duct tape seriously tho....get some new ones

if this is the second pair of the same boots where the zip has failed, i'd be tempted to write to the manufacturer. it may be a known defect and you never know, they may be generous....

I had the same but tried at cobblers, bike leather alterations shop and a tack manufacturer to get the zip replaced and I was told that the zip was put in before the boot was formed and was impossible to replace and mintain any integrity of the boot. They were as yours and 13 months old.
