These are what i have at the moment (the white bits are wer it has warn through) I have only had them a few months and they are already warn. As I am new to biking i am wandering if this is due to the gloves, or due to my style or riding as I only use the bike about an hour a week, so they shouldnt have warn.

Also, am looking at getting these gloves. Do you think they will wear as quickly? or do i need to look for something else? (they are "HG NAGANO GLOVES BLACK")

Some gloves are crap mate. I had a pair of Joe Rocket gloves a few years ago and they only lasted a few months, they were poor considering the name on them.

I have a pair of Buffalo gloves. Have had them a few years now and they are still as good as they were when I bought them. They are called Buffalo Thermosport and they are solid. http://secure.buffalo.bifax.co.uk/view_ ... y_id=10720

Take them back to where you bought them and demand a replacement/refund - that's shocking for about 10 hours worth of riding (according to your usage estimate).

I assume you haven't had a crash in them and its just from wear and tear on the grips, if that isn't the case then just buy some new ones as these won't protect you very well in a spill.

Hum... that cant b rite.. 10 hours? maybe im wrong. but i usually only use my bike (therefore my gloves) to and from college on "lazy days" (most days lol). the jurney is well within walking distance, so thats about 5 mins use. then 5 mins back. thats 10 mins a day, and 2-5 days a week. then the occasional ride into town, about 40-50 minutes there. so reali not much milage!... Although my bike reads that I have done 1000 miles (or Killomitors.. it doesnt say ut it has both on the speedo..) Something isnt rite.. maybe i have done more miles in them than i thought. Still, not many.

Well, if they wear away just by wearing them, they can't protect you very well scraping along the floor...

definately take them back - even with your revised estimation of mileage, they shouldn't be that bad.

i've got a couple of pairs of hein gericke gloves - some basic summer ones and pathan's - and they're good. the summer ones have had plenty of wear and been soaked through more than once. and i crashed in them. neither are showing fatigue
