Hi Guy's

My RF600R that I bought around a month ago has been brilliant so far with no probs and a whole different world from my GS500

Until today.....was nothing major (I hope) but when I set off to work today after filling petrol up (Don't know if this is linked) as I approached the first roundabout I noticed the engine sounded different and there was spluttering and spitting when I was reving. It was realy slugish till it hit about 3-4000rpm then it would pick up.

This only lasted about 5mins then it was back to been fine reving lovely responsive etc... any ideas?? It has been raining alot dont know if this has anything to do with it.

I keep the bike under a rain cover at night.

Cheers

prob just a bit of crap pushed into the feed pipe when you filled up give it a good blast to clear it out

Sounds to me like one of the cylinders wasn't firing. That could be as simple as a spark plug or the HT lead.

Then again it could be something else entirely.

Yeh, Cheers Ian.

That was what I was hoping for so wound it out a bit on the way to work. It's just when something goes like that you think "OK now what"

the RF is a bugger because of the fairings, but i'd check that the HT leads are firmly attached.

How low were you on fuel? could be you got some of the tank debris in the lines, or a little water

but glad its working OK now.

i would go with the HT leads and water ingress

Yeh it was well on reserve when I filled up so maybe.

It's a couple of days down the line now and "touch wood" since then it hasn't nissed a beat!!!

When will this weather pick up!!! It's rained for days over here in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Want to get out camping but don't reckon on this week.
