I havn't used my bike since my trackday on 13/07. And It wouldn't start today so checked over the electrics, and as I pulled the fairing back I saw this.

Has my clutch cover gasket gone, or is my exhaust leaking, because the gearbox had a hammering dropping down the gears for the hairpin at mallory.

It started raining so couldn't investigate further and now its dark, so will have to wait til tomorrow

My bikes an Aprilia RS 125 btw

have you recently lubed the chain, could be its off the front sprocket...

i would wipe it off and run the bike, looking for leaks...

I've just had a quick look with a torch form under the bike, and it looks like the gasket has gone on the clutch over right by the starter motor.

Got to wait til Monday now to get a gasket.

If anyone has replaced a clutch cover gasket before is it easy.

Would it be ideal to use some gasket glue to make sure the gasket sits correctly so I get a good seal.

I am useless at working on manual bikes, I'm use to working on automatic scooters, so its a whole new ball game for me really.

I've not done anywhere near that area, so I'm just guessing that I overworked the gearbox. I am going to replace the gasket and see if the problem occurs again

While your at it drain the fluids and replenish them once you have fitted the new gasket.

Mine did this but not that much oil and it was coming from a lose seal on my exhaust (Deliberate to keep it drained)

I have had a good look today and the oil is leaking from my exhaust manifold thankgod.

So going to get the exhaust off and soak it in caustic soda to clear out all the crap inside.
