Guest Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Hello all,I'll keep this short and straight to the point.I've just bought a new starter relay, fitted it, turned the key, no power. As the connections on the new one were the opposite way to the old, id connected it up back to front. I then tried the connectors the other way and It kept blowing the fuse on it!!I put the old back on and now that doesnt work. Ive checked the other fuses on the bike (all the ones i could find anyway) and they are all fine.I have no electrics at all now. Any thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.I'm completely off the road now and have 10 miles to travel to work Quote
Guest Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 how come the new one is differently wired?sounds like you have blown the main fuse, but you need to find why.. Quote
Guest Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Thanks. The new one is a copy not a Honda original. Its exactly the same except the terminals are upside down therefore if i attach the cables the same as the old then they are back to front. I had a look at my wiring diagram last night and i could only see the fuse for the starter (20A) and the the three fuses in the fuse box (1 x 15A 2x10A) for lights etc. Does this sound right? Where would a main fuse be?I'm going to get an exchange on the starter relay as i think its a duff. Anyone know a cheap place/ breaker for Honda parts?Kind regardsTricky. Quote
