Alloy Welder

Does anyone here have an Alloy Welder?? in the near future i may be looking to borrow one as my bike is poorley and considering dropping a bigger lump in it so need to do some frame mods...

That price dont include the TIG part be carefull and read adverts carefully. Good TIG INVERTERS are expensive and the easier to use ones are even more expensive. £700 to £1000 is not unheard of for good welders.


also if your doing frame welds with bigger powerful engines it may be cheaper and safer in the long run to have the welds done professionally.


all that said good luck, I am trying to build a machine around a CBF1000 lump. I will however be using steel as i dont need a racy frame.

Deffo reccommend you have the welding done professionally,either Tig or gas,a welder has to go through a 4 year apprenticeship to learn how to weld.I can stick metal together,Mig,Tig,Gas and stick but I would NEVER contemplate welding a motorcycle.

Just my opinion for what it's worth. :)

If it is any help Stuart at Spondon Engineering in Derby is fantastic and your mods will be perfectly done by arguably the best frame welders in the business.

i know him quite well so if you need any help just ask.
