martlewis Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 For the next few weeks I'll be commuting to Leeds from Sheffield (avoiding motorways with my L-plates There's nowhere to store my gear once I get there so looking for advice on hard luggage. Got a Givi 30l top box which takes helmet, gloves and a few other bits. Considering paniers to keep my clothes in (textile jacket and trousers). Could do with being lockable.Any suggestions for the Yamaha YBR-125? If anyone has any to sell I'd be interested. Not looking to spend a fortune as this will only be a once a year 3 week journey.Thanks. Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Hard panniers are usually expensive. Soft panniers are nickable. Take you pick. I've got the oxford first time panniers, and i'd rate them very highly. Quote

martlewis Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Am sort of stuck. If I needed them for the commute to work every day then I would look at the soft panniers. I just need these for a few weeks for storage on the bike once I get to my destination, not for carrying anything whilst riding.I think soft panniers are gonna end up getting stolen or drowned in a rain shower. True, but if you put a bicycle lock through them and then cover the bike it shud be alrite. Not sure about hard panniers for your bike, when I priced a proper givi set inc racks for the sv it was over £400. Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 The oxford panniers come with waterproof over bags. But yes, they can be stolen, or things stolen from them. Your risk. Quote
