Guest Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I'm currently a bit of a Dianese Slag. I've got D-Dry Jacket and Trousers (not sure on the name, they were a shade under £200 each) and Jericho Gloves (along with some Alpinestars SMX-5 Boots). Now, the gear has kept me warmish and dry in this lovely, British weather we've had, but I've noticed that the jacket and trousers have developed some issues:Some of the internal fixings (for the thermal layer) have started to come loose. The armor pockets in the sleeves work themselves open and the pads move around. The external seams have started to open in some places.I'd like to look at some new gear for these reasons, but also because I want something bigger (I think I rushed the purchase and didn't check the fit as well as I could have done) and a bit more comfortable. I'd also like sleeves that have zips so I can open then to fit over my gloves. Anyone who owns a pair of Jericho gloves will know that trying to get the inner layer inside your jacket and the outer layer outside can be a bit of a faff!Any suggestions as to what would be the next step up? Rukka would be lovely, but I just don't know if I can afford anything quite that expensive! Quote
Guest Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Hein gericke goretex is rated very highly. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/Ri ... 20test.pdf Quote
Guest Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Nice one! There's a Hein in Maidstone, so I'll pop down there and take a look. Quote
Guest Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 The goretex stuff is the one to get. They were on special offer at the moment, but no idea if they still are. Quote
Guest Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I use HG stuff. Very good, does what it says on the tin. Go for gortex over sheltex though. Quote
queen bodecia Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Hein Gericke or Halvarssons/Lindstrands. In my opinion Dainese off the peg really isn't all that for the money. Ditto Alpinestars. More fashion than function. Italian brands made in Pakistan and mostly in the same factories as Frank Thomas, RST, Akito, etc. Made to measure is a different matter of course. Quote
