Will these systems work on carbed bikes? (if the carb lever is set to a suitable starting level before the owner leaves the bike)

Intrested to buy one for the bandit 1999. :)

Many thanks. (Sorry for the ever so slight hi-jack.)

Aye, making sure it's out of gear would be a must.

For the price it seems pretty darn good. Is there any chance you could post a picture of the 'optional' battery connection socket? As I could always fit one myself, saving a few £ in the process. :) Oh and could you please tell me which socket is the aux input one? As fitting a press switch under the seat would then cut the bike stopping it from starting, even if it was hotwired in the usual fashion, if they attempted to rip the seat off.

Thankyou,

haha, that's awesome. I hope you can turn off the 'this system is armed' sound though. That'd be terrible when parking at (for instance) college. However the 'please step away this system is armed' cracked me up. Thankyou greatly for the video link.

From what I can see of the connectors, they would be easy enough to strip down and probe to find out which wire does which job. (Father is a trained electrician, and i'm brushing up on my skill too. :) ) So wiring up a few extra switches and a secret supply shouldn't be too hard (he says  ). Just need to work out where the hell I can hide such a piece of art on a 'naked' bike. (Suggestions welcome) :?

Many thanks, you've been very helpfull.

Cyclone C11 alarm. Read reviews of both, apparently the hawk can be disabled extremly easily. Have a google and you will find it. Got the cyclone fitted to both my bikes and very happy. Btw most insurance policies do not allow you to have the remote start connected.

im looking at a cyclone or Hawk alarm they both look exactly the same so not sure why you are commenting on the fact one can be disabled easier than the other. The only difference i have seen is the fact Cyclone have loads of alarms to choose from and im not sure if they will fit my husqvarna supermoto without causing any problems to it.

I take it you have to have the remote start fitted as one i don't want it, two my bike is a kick start motocross bike..

My Varadero 125 was fitted with a Datatool system 3 when I bought it. They don't sell the system 3 anymore but you might be able to track one down on ebay or go for one of their newer versions, but it was a great little alarm.

It was bloody loud, sensitive enough to go off if somebody actually moved your bike but not soo touchy that it would go off because of something like the wind, was bloody loud when it went off and it never once went off when it shouldn't have except for the couple of times when I got on the bike without turning it off!

The only time it ever went wrong was when I forgot to take the remote out of my trousers when I put them in the washing machine!

They are not the same.
