just wanted to find out how old most people bikes are. when i pass my tests i will probably be getting a 1998-2000 bike and just wondered if other people have bikes this old or older :D

What if we have multiple bikes? Do we take an average? :lol:


In the garage currently:


1999, 2008, 2010, and an 11 plate.

my first was a '92 in '96

followed by a '90, a '03 a '99, an '05, an '04 an '04 and a '10

I think that we all start off on older bikes and work our way up in cc and value of bikes. some of the luck few get to have more than one bike

Not done CBT yet Gill - still waiting for tax etc to be sorted :evil: Will have to do it at a weekend now, with all the ped chavs though!! :roll: :lol:

1995 CB500, bought in Jan 2009 with 45K miles on the clocks, and an utter pig of a machine, as you know.

2002 CG125, bought in Dec 2007 with 13K miles, a brilliant machine.

mines 2004.

I found out after id bought it that my manafacturer (Hyosung) didnt start making decent engines/parts until after that time so i had to spend a lot on repairs. Its up to spec now and running really well though.

I have a 2000 W reg CBR600FX


I cannot afford anything newer at the moment so it will have to do.

i have a 1986 bmw k75s and i am restoring a 1978 suzuki gs550 (thanks Dan) so kinda like the olduns

ok many thanks for the replies. do you find bikes that are 10 years old or more need more work like new clutch/gearbox etc or do they keep going and going ?


im looking at getting a honda hornet 600 for my next bike and i have heard these things are bulletproof
