Guest Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Hi Guys,Passed my theory test this morning, thank god thats over.... it's like being back at school! I was most worried about the hazard perception bit (passed car driving test after theory came in, but before hazard perception) but I managed it despite a rather dubious 'you clicked too many times in this clip' incident!Anyways, Mod 1 booked at the end of the month, and I've been in the car park practicing on my OH's ER5 this evening. Hoping to get through MOD1 with no lessons. Can someone confirm if it is OK to do MOD1 on a bike which I do not have insurance for, as I won't be on the road? Or do I need to be covered? Thanks!N Quote
Guest Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Well done on the theory!!As for the bike, how you getting it there etc? And I am sure a phone call to the test centre would clear that up .. An odd one for sure .. Quote

Ie a barrier, gate etc, where the public do not have free access. Therefore, if you rode the bike from the DSA car park into the test circuit = illegal. If you get it ridden into the test circut, and then complete mod 1 = legal. You shouldn't be riding in a carpark either without insurance. I can dig out the case law if you wish.. Quote
Guest Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Grrr..... so I type a decent reply, and fail to actually post it before closing the window..... numpty!Dan - thanks for confirming this, thats awesome. It means that I can rule of the option of doing the MOD1 on the ER5 and MOD2 potentially on my GPZ500 (was considering this as a way of keeping insurance costs down as I'll have to be insured on it after I pass anyhoo)!Another massive benefit of a proper DAS course .... its less of a logistical nightmare!N Quote

Dont forget you can always get temporary insurance for one day. Quote
