cypek Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Hello mate. It is polite to say hello and read a bit first. There is section here for any technical problems called Pitstop Quote
Martyc Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Was the batt charged fully before putting in? If not that could be ya problem and ya killed it. Alternatively the charging system is fooked, they would be my 2 guesses Quote
Guest Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Moved into pitstop for you.Why not pop into newbie bit and say Hi!! That a scoot? Sounds like it isn't/hasn't been charging ... Quote
Guest Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Consider me told off, hi my names Lee!!!Had the battery off on a charger and it just still no life, could the battery just be completely bushed?? Quote
rennie Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 If the battery won't accept a charge then it's no good!but you need to check out the charging system on the scootbefore you put a new battery on or it might fry that too! Quote
rennie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 you need a voltmeter!then test the voltage across the batteryboth with and without the engine running Quote
ricky_v Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I would bet £10 its the alternator. a running engine always needs electricity for the spark plugs. Normally the alternator will provide enough power for the spark plugs, auxillary power consumption (lights, indicators) and to charge the battery up (since the battery needs charging after initial start up), do what rennie surgests, and if the alternator isnt going above ~13V then its buggered, similarly check the current. check voltage in parallel, current in series.
