Guest Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I did my theory test no problem, paid for my training and test good to go. I've been riding on a CBT for a year and am on a 125 but I am learning on their bike to get used to the 1down 5up system (the gears on my bike are 4down).After my 2nd lesson on the road my instructor told me he had booked me in for my mod 1 in 6 days time (now I started to worry as I hadn't even set eyes on the pad and had only been out with him twice) so I've just come back from the pad now and to be quite honest feel awful! I cant seem to do my emergency stop quick enough instructor says that I am not reacting quick enough and that I need to squeeze the front brake more oh and also I once locked my back wheel. Getting up to 50kmh is proving a problem as I am only doing 50-52 and otherwise under. my figure of 8 is messy as I cant seem to work out how far to go. one second my instructor is saying use the space next minute I am going too far out!!!I really don't feel ready to do my module 1 and did speak to my instructor when we got back but he was convinced it was fine, I just have to stay calm and that its because I become frustrated too easily!! you gave me 6 days till my test and I previously had never even set eyes on the pad, of course I am stressed once I'm on it!!I paid for the course with the understanding that the training was unlimited and that I would not do my test until I was ready.I really don't know what to do about this situation. I have nowhere to practice between now and Thursday and I wondered how many times other riders were on the pad before they were booked in for their mod 1 test?Karen Quote
Martyc Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The mod 1 isn't too bad really it sounds like it's just nerves. I hadn't seen the test centre til my mod 1. Admittedly I failed the 1st time round but only due to a missed ob, all the manoeuvres came together fine on the day despite all my panic. At the end of the day if you don't pass it isnt the end of the world, it gives you a chance to see where you went wrong and try again when you feel ready. Quote
