Guest Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I'm booked up for a 6 day DAS, never rode a bike before, had for a day and a half, the half day being some chat and then 2 hour road ride, was doing alright on the road ride but was very nervous and the weather was bad, I came out a junction and wasn't concentrating properly and got too close to a van that was coming along in opposite direct (there were parked cars on my side of the road). Very stupid mistake and I defo need some more training before I go for it again. Going to E-mail them but bit worried as I can't see anything about paying for a couple hours of training...if I have to repay for the whole day then it will be rather expensive. Oh well hope I get it next time! Quote
iiisecondcreep Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Don't worry about it, I did my CBT over 2 days as well. Well, technically it was 1 but actually it was 2. As I had no previous experience the instructor suggested I came along the day before and the instructor talked me through the bikes and took me to the car park they hire and let me ride about for a while as the other people I was doing the CBT with had previous experience. With the school I was with, the price of your CBT was fixed no matter how many days it took you to pass, I think a lot pf places do it that way Quote
Susieque Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Yes, you're by no means the only person to have done their CBT over more than 1 day! It's not a test, it's compulsory basic training - and it's better that you spend more time making sure you're ready to ride alone than to rush it and hav an accident! My CBT place charged a set fee regardless of how long it took. Stuno1 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Don't stress mate. I had to use the second session of my 6 day das to vet the Cbt passed. Thankfully they didn't ask me to resit the day. I really struggled on my Cbt but the learning curve us very steep and you will be amazed how quickly you pick it up!After my Cbt, one 4 hour lesson on a 125 and two 4 hour lessons on a 500 I am now very comfortable on the bike. I still have a lot to learn but I feel goo where as before I was really nervous. Stu Quote
Guest Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks for the kind word guys, they've asked me to come in from 1-4 tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes! Will try and not be as nervous this time, things still feel un-natural to me and I have to think about things too much, so I defo need more time on the bike... Quote
