Don't let it get to you!!

Its only a test!! If its the nerves that are getting you, then investigate some relaxation techniques or somesuch.

I have read on here about something peeps do to settle nerves before a test, can't for the life of me think what it is though!!

I know you can ride ok!!

Yup!

It took me 4 attempts to pass and I was completely gutted and almost in tears every time I failed.

I recall you saying that the first time you sat your test you had only managed to make the necessary speed on the swerve manouvre once, so you were maybe not quite ready. I'd had many hours of Mod one lessons and was getting it right every time, only to then fail on the same thing 3 times!

As I didn't have my own bike I had to hire one so each test was £65 (so £260 in mod 1's), and because I was doing it over summer and all the test centres were busy, I had to wait ~6 weeks between each test (except one) so it was around 4 months after sitting my first test that I finally passed! All that time I was having to keep getting lessons to practice.

I done my CBT on February 21st, I passed my mod 2 on November 18th!

You will get there and remember that once you've passed you NEVER have to do it again!! :D

I don't think I've ever felt so relieved in my life as I did when I finally passed!

I know is easy for me and others to say, but keep at it, you will get there. I know how pants it feels but you will do it.

It's not the riding the bike!

it's just the fact that it's a test!

you'll be fine! just keep going!

don't think about the test just ride the bike.

You sound like you are not very far off at all so I reckon you will get it next time :D If not remember failing gets easier everytime, until you get to the point where you go to the test thinking 'f**k it I don't really care if I pass or not'. That's a good way to settle the nerves

you´re right gayle, I dont think i was ready the first time, I just couldn´t get my brain in gear for the faster manouvers, now they´re a breeze!! thought i definately was ready the second time tho!!

It is so frustrating when you know you can do it but nerves get the better of you :(

On my 4 attempt, in my head I just kept saying to myself- why are you so worried? You've done this a hundred times, you are more than capable!

I planned everything and talked myself through each manoeuvre as I was doing it. I failed each time for locking the back brake, so as I was coming in for my high speed manoeuvres, I thought to myself - get that foot away from the back break!

It worked and I passed, I think because I was keeping my brain busy it gave me less chance to be thinking 'OMG TEST EEEEEK PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC'.

LOL! is it possible to book 2 tests a week apart? or can you only book 1 at a time? I´m thinking of playing a little psychological game here.........

Don't see why not but be aware that you may not get a full refund if and when you pass your next one :0)

Yes you can book both tests

but leave enough days between the tests so you have time to cancel mod2

you don't want to lose £75

I think they need about 3 / 5 days notice to cancel without losing the fee

Unless you want the added pressure to make sure you pass

I dont think thats a good idea

You'll have the mindset "its ok if I fail this, there's another one in a few days"

You'll probably have more incentive if you book 1 test knowing if you fail it you will have to wait ages to have another go

that's more likely to spur you on to pass

But IM NOT going to fail again :( xx

You already know you can do it just book one test, pass it then pass mod2

I know how you feel I hated this test and failed twice on the swerve all because of nerves, my mouth was as dry as a sandpit through it!

On my third attempt I was with another student from the same school who had the test before me, so I had to sit and wait for him!

I was thinking, b***ocks this is not going to help my nerves, the school is a bit cheeky as I am sitting here waiting and actually paying them for the time!

I actually watched the guy before me do his test and he made it look so easy, funny thing was that relaxed me and when I went out to do mine I passed!

try some of the stress relief gum you can get from boots, just ask for rescue remedy, I took some of this before my mod 2 and passed on the first attempt.

Good luck for next time.
