Ratser Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 There is a guy who is always in the Honda place in Glasgow, he is nearly 80 and still rides a Fireblade. And a guy who comes to teh TT with us every year, he usually rides a ZX6R.He is about 75 now, and this year he is taking his son's second bike. An SP1. Can't wait to see it when we all pull up at the Cregg, and he takes his helmet off as folk gather round, and there is the silver fox. Hopefully if I am still around at that age, I am well enough to still be able to ride. Quote
Ratser Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 No problem. One of the guys has pulled out actually, so there may be a ferry ticket going. As long as you don't mind camping ? This will be my 3rd year going. Quote
Remy Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Good on her!! Sue I think I am older than you so you have nothing to worry about! Quote

Hopefully if I am still around at that age, I am well enough to still be able to ride. I went for a pre-Mod 1 lesson at Route 66 in Motherwell on Tuesday and got talking to an elderly gent who I reckon must have been 75 if he was a day.He told me he'd undergone a quadruple heart by-pass operation and he'd promised himself that "if he survived it" he would return to motorcycling after being away from bikes for many years. He did ... and he has. He was taking Mod 2 on Wednesday on his 125 and said he was quite happy to be restricted to 33bhp because that was "plenty enough for me at my age, ok son?".I really hope he passed. Quote
